Lin
(Y/N) POV
"Run!" I hear Cassy yell as my vision is dark. I hear howls in the distance.
We must be getting chased by wolves. Wonderful.
I couldn't do anything, I'm dead weight at the moment,
"I can't run any faster!" I hear Rebecca yell as my senses start to return.
It was cool, the air smelled like rain was coming. It must be a night out.
I try to open my eyes but my eyelids remained shut.
"Where are we?" I ask as my voice croaks out.
"I don't know!" I hear Cassy extremely close to me. I feel the wind blow through my hair as my body shakes at a steady rate.
I must be on her back.
My leg suddenly starts to pulse in a pain so extreme I can't even describe.
"Aghhhh," I grunt as I try to remain silent.
"There's too many of them!" Cassy says.
"Ahhh," I hear Rebecca yelp as we stop. She must have tripped.
"Are you ok!?" Cassy asks concerned.
"Yeah," Rebecca says as my eyes finally open.
I hear barks and howls in the distance as Cassy sets me down.
"I hurt my ankle," she says as I scan the area. We were in a dense forest, and it was extremely dark out.
"They must be hunting us because we are weak at the moment," I say as I look at the two women. I just barely see their faces with the light of the moon.
"Go ahead, get some distance, I can slow them down," I tell Cassy as her eyes widen.
"What no!" She protests. As I spot Jacob. He was resting, obviously, he was still alive from the Zetsu attack. I presume that Cassy was carrying me and Rebecca was carrying him.
"Rebecca can't carry Jacob anymore, and I can't move fast enough with my leg," I point out
"Get a move on, your wasting time, there's no time to argue over it," I say as she shakes her head.
"No, I can't leave you!" She says angrily.
"I knew that you would say that," I mutter as I activate my Sharingan on them.
I placed them under Genjutsu. I made it seem like I had agreed to go with them, but I wasn't.
Cassy picked up Jacob and she and Rebecca started sprinting away.
"There," I mutter as I look in the direction of the wolves. With my Sharingan, I can see the beasts make their way toward me.
"Anyone want some Wolf stew in the morning," I say to no one in particular.
"No? Ok," I mutter as they descend upon me.
"Fireball Jutsu,"
The whole forest becomes engulfed in an inferno. A couple of the wolves managed to avoid the blaze and were trying to sneak on me and attack from behind.
I launched a giant fire attack and lit every side of my surrounding with fire.
I then used my eyes to seek out the chakra of the remaining wolves. I launched a few kunai to claim the rest of their lives.
My leg pulsed in pain as I passed out once again.
Cassy POV
We were running when the night sky suddenly became lit. I looked behind us and saw a massive fire.
"Did we set a fire?" I ask as I carry both Jacob and help (Y/N) walk
"Yeah," he mutters
Another spark of brightness gave us a much better view of our path ahead...and it also gave us a sight of a house.
It was standing all alone in the middle of the forest. The trees had perfectly concealed it.
I wonder if anyone is home? It looks abandoned.
Suddenly a light inside the house turns on...that answers my question.
Are they gonna be nice? Bad? Are they gonna hurt us?
I look back at the inferno. We need to take this risk.
I rushed toward the house and aggressively knocked on it.
It opened revealing a woman who was older than me. The shadows hide her face from sight.
"I'm sorry to bother you, but we need help!" I say as I can see a faint glint in her eyes. They scanned all three of us before resting on Jacob.
"The boy is hurt?" She asks in a mature voice.
"Yes, and the man beside me is badly hurt too," I say as she goes silent.
"There's no man beside you," she says as I look do where (Y/N) should be. But he isn't
Damn it! He put me under Genjutsu didn't he!
"Then he must be back in the flames! He musta used fire jutsu to keep the wolves away. We don't have time to waste!" I say as she nods
"The children can stay here, and we can grab your friend before more wolves come. That fire is gonna be like a beacon," she says as I scan inside the house really quick.
It was mostly one large space, but it had one small room which was probably a bathroom, and then another one which was surely a bedroom.
"Come on in," she hushes Rebecca in as I rush inside to set Jacob on the couch.
"Is there anyone else here?" I ask her as she is silent.
"Hello?" I say as she looks at me
"No, no one else," she says with a touch of pain in her voice.
"I'll be back!" I tell Rebecca as I sprint out the door. I hear footsteps behind me as I rush toward the fire.
"Your friend did that?" She asks me as I focus ahead
"I think so," I say as I head toward the centre of the blaze.
(Y/N) was passed out, he didn't move from the position I had set him in when we stopped
"His leg looks bad," the lady says as we were still a ways away. How could she tell?
I didn't bother to ask because it wouldn't change anything.
We reached him and I grabbed his left arm as the lady grabbed his right.
I finally got a good look at her. Her voice may have had a mature tone to it, but she only could have been a year or two older than me.
She had bright blue hair, almost a cyan colour. She was only wearing a blouse, but obviously, she put on shoes before greeting the door.
"What happened to him," she asks me
"P-poison," I say reluctantly. We need to be on her good side, I shouldn't hide anything from her.
"It's a deadly one," she observes. She must be a medic of some kind.
"Yeah," I mutter as we rush him into the house.
"Get him on the couch, I'll start treatment instantly," she says as we haul him on the couch and then she disappears into her room.
"Is he ok?" Rebecca asks worried as I look at him. He was sweating, but let's hope that's because of the fire and not a fever.
"I don't know," I tell her being honest. She looks at (Y/N) and squeezes his hand
"Please be ok," she mutters as the lady comes out with different clothes on and a big medkit.
She was wearing camo clothing with little to no skin showing other than her pretty face. Her cyan-coloured hair was pushed away from her face and tucked into a bun at the back of her head.
"How long since infection?" She asks as my brain thinks.
"It's been a day and a half," I tell her as she unwraps his leg.
I haven't seen it since I wrapped it up, and that as before we started our journey to the leaf village. All around the puncture mark was a dark charcoal black.
"Do you know what poison?" The lady asks unfazed.
"No, it was on a tip of a spear of a weapon," I say trying to put it in simple terms.
"Ok," she says closing her eyes.
"I can slow it down, but I can't do anything until tomorrow when I gather some herbs to make a tea and some medical ointment," she says looking at me.
"How bad is it?" I ask her. Obviously she knows a lot more about medicine than I do.
"Pretty bad, hopefully, we can save the leg, but if it doesn't work, he may lose it," she says as she turns away.
However, a hand grabs her arm before she would walk away.
"I'd prefer to keep it," (Y/N) says sleepily before passing out again.
"I'm surprised he didn't yell in pain. That surely doesn't feel nice," she mutters and walks away.
"What's your name? I didn't catch it," I ask her as she looks at me.
"My names Lin," she says as I nod
"I'm Cassy, the children are Rebecca and Jacob, and the man is (Y/N)," I tell her as she remembers something.
"The boy was injured right? Let's take a look," she says as she makes her way to Jacob.
Maybe we won't have to go to the leaf village after all
