Sounds of my own running footsteps were coming into my ears.

"Hah. Hah..."

My breath was getting heavy.

No a single soul was here on the street. I was alone, running with heavy sweat on my face. Even in this cold breeze of spring, I was getting wet.

I can't stop. I can't be late. Otherwise...

Evening was falling; twilight was far gone. Just a bit longer, I would reach. I had to; I must.

"You will only get time till that day. Once it's gone, you will be teleported back to present."

I needed to be next to him; I needed to be there for him. Otherwise....

Stepping up on the stairs, looking at my front, I was holding my breath.

Today is the last day... my last chance!
