Chapter Seven | Shower

Friday relaxed into a steaming hot bath. The water was as pink as her hair, with fresh rose petals floating alongside the bubbles. Through a window over the tub, she could see the sparkling night sky. Beau had been kind enough to bring her a drink. She didn't bother to get the details, all she cared about was it had vodka and tasted sweet.

She was the type to prefer luxury over morality. Clearly, that's why she had joined a mercenary society a few years back. Given the fact that they left her to rot in 42, she wasn't as smitten with them as she once was. Though she did still have her reserves, Friday could see herself sticking around this place.

As for the prison guard staying across the hall, he wouldn't be as easy to convince. Vinny laid awake, honestly scared to sleep in a house full of super villains. Part of him would like to hope there's heroes out there looking for him, or at the very least, looking for the escaped convicts. Unfortunately, if Covey had managed to remain here untouched, and the others thought this the best place to hide out, it's likely no good-doers knew of this location.

On the other side of the mansion, the kitchen lights were still on, albeit dimmed. Beau stood over a cutting board, slowly pulling the knife through a potato. His mind was preoccupied and his body tired. When his father walked in, his reaction was delayed.

"What're you doing up?" He quietly asked, using that tone that any loving parent gets.

Beau half-grinned, "Hm, I'm tired, but I can't sleep. Decided to make some food."

Covey walked up beside him and took the knife from his hand. "Go sit. I'll do this. You did escape prison tonight."

He placed his hand on Covey's shoulder, glancing up at him with lethargic eyes. "I wish I could've taken your postcards with me, but I'd much rather have you back."

His father paused for a moment to look back at him and smile. "I'm glad to have you back. Ask your uncles, I was a wreck without you and Jasper."

Beau walked around the counter, taking a seat at one of the bar stools on the other side. "How's he feeling?"

"He should be alright, once he gets enough rest. I plan to perform a healing ritual tomorrow nonetheless. Once he's on his feet, he'll want answers. It'd be for the best if you tell me know, instead of having to tell him later."

The angel sighed, "It was Ricky and Ryan. They took Chris. I couldn't get in Ricky's mind fast enough to know what he was thinking, but it seemed like a revenge thing. Chris was the one who got them caught, after all."

"What a mess." Covey replied, "Going up against those two is one thing, but we also have to worry about finding them before any supers do. And, we have the problem that we could risk revealing ourselves to supers in the process. I hate to say it, but we may need to open a rift."

"Even if we didn't have this whole problem, I wouldn't mind having some extra manpower on our side. On our living side, that is. We don't have to worry about our presence in the spirit world."

He chuckled, "That's very true. Mind telling me about your new friends?"

"Oh, yeah." Beau said, "Friday Ruki, she belongs to a secret society of mercenaries. Pretty sure she only came with us because she wants to get laid. The other one, Vinny Mauro, he was the guard that looked after us during the day. It wasn't my intention to bring him here. He has a good heart, better than any other hero I've ever met. Maybe if he got the chance to see us for what we really are, he'd... Understand, I guess. At the very least, I think Jasper will be interested in his powers.

"He can manipulate the density and size of his molecules. He's got good control over it, too. During the breakout, I watched him shift between the density of a brick, then to air in seconds. I haven't seen him manipulate his size first hand, though."

"An ability like that would certainly make our job far easier." Covey responded.

He could see his son was upset over recent events, and chose to change the subject for the remainder of the evening. Instead, Covey told stories about what had been going on at the manor since Beau's imprisonment. They laughed over lighthearted tales of the society's members, and got into deep conversations about the artifacts that had been recently recovered. Most importantly, they were able to spend quality time together, something they'd both longed for.

By the time they'd eaten and finally finished all their talking, the sun was starting to come up. Beau retired to his room, of which was exactly how he'd left it a year ago. He noticed there wasn't a single layer of dust on anything. His father must've been keeping up with it while he was gone.

Covey journeyed back to the master bedroom. He slipped through the double doors, being careful not to wake his spouse. They say absence makes the heart grow fonder. While that may be true, he was beyond happy their time apart had come to an end. He sat down on the edge of the bed and, as the first light of dawn coated the walls, he watched his breathtaking beauty sleep.

Jasper, eyes still closed, grasped Covey's hand in his own. He brought the crow's hand to his mouth, pressing his lips to his skin gently. "They took some of my power." He whispered, causing Covey's heart to skip a beat. "Don't worry. I still have enough to heal, and when I'm better, you better fuck me so hard into this mattress that I forget my name."

Covey snickered and leaned forward, kissing his forehead. "I'm glad to see you're feeling better already. We'll get it back."

"I'm not worried about that. I know we will." He responded hoarsely, "I'm worried what they plan to do with it."

Chris was still rather peeved he was forcefully taken from a place he didn't want to leave, but he had to admit, Ricky was right about one thing. He did miss solid food. As well, he missed nature. He sat in a chair beside the large penthouse windows, watching the sunrise and eating Chinese takeout slowly. His stomach wasn't exactly used to a normal meal.

His kidnappers hadn't bothered to eat yet. Instead, they opted for a shower first. A "shower," right, he thought. Chris wasn't an idiot, but sitting out here alone made him feel a bit like a child that was given a distraction while mommy and daddy went to have adult time. At least the view was nice, even if the ambient noise was less than ideal for him.

For Ricky and Ryan, it was like a slice of Heaven. The hot water cascaded down their pale bodies as they became entangled in one another. Of course, it was one of those fancy rich people showers that came down from the ceiling like a rain shower, making the experience that much more romantic.

Ricky slammed Ryan against the wall, causing him to smile like the Devil. "Fuck, I've missed you." Ryan remarked.

"I hope you thought of me when you touched yourself at night." Ricky teased him.

"You're the only one I ever think about." He responded.

"Really?" His dominant smirked, "You never picture anyone else's body? Never imagine kissing down their stomach, sucking on their big cock, while I fuck you from behind?"

Ryan laughed, "Oh, I've definitely thought about a threesome, but I've never seen anyone I've been interested in having one with. They broke the mold when they made you."

"Damn right they did." Ricky grabbed him by the back of his legs, pulling him into his hips. He stole a few feverish kisses from Ryan's lips before moving down to his neck. His submissive continued to grind his hips against his pelvis, whining for more. Ricky only snickered at how pathetic he sounded.

He didn't keep his precious lover waiting much longer. A year without a hole to fuck didn't affect Ricky's endurance in the least bit. Nothing mattered more to him in this world than taking care of Ryan, no matter the context. He fucked him in every position he could, until his sub was begging him to stop. By the time they got to the actual washing part of their shower, they were almost too worn out to do it.

When they finally turned off the faucet and dressed themselves in their own clothes, they walked out to find Chris asleep on the couch. He could've run away in that time, but he didn't. Though they did find it odd, Ricky was grateful he hadn't taken his one out. He knew Ryan had suggested they showered together in the hopes that Chris would leave. In his mind, they were better off not risking an attack from the Rivière Noire Society. He couldn't care less what they wanted with Chris. It couldn't have been worth the price of their freedom, or their lives.

Ricky warmed up their takeout, while Ryan drew the shades closed. They both settled into their bed and laid together, eating Chinese food. Getting to feel the comfort of their own bed and each other's embrace was just as good, if not better, than the reunion sex. They may not agree on everything, but they knew one thing for sure: Whatever comes next, they'll face it, together.
