10, 20 and 30k special

So recently, my posting schedule has been a little rocky.

My relative who reads my fics: A LITTLE?!

I mean, I guess a bit...

Her: HELL NAH!

Sorrrrryyyyy. For those who didn't drop this book. Thank you so much for waiting even if it's just notices about my schedule. I'm going to try to update any chapter, be it special or not, every month or two.

Let's get started! This one-shot is more of a memory out of the canon storyline. It's for Langris because he is my new simp subject.

-----------------------

Y/N P.O.V.

I stood outside my balcony and looked up at the night sky. Oddly, I just feel this attraction to the stars and the moon. Almost as if I belong among them.

"Hey, Y/N, what are you doing?" Langris asked me, poking his head out from his room beside me.

My previous roommates on both sides had left the Golden Dawn. Apparently, they had fulfilled a mission of sorts so they left. Langris was transferred beside me and we had grown a little more comfortable around each other. I remember the first time we actually talked more civilly than threats and insults. It was pretty awkward but it was better than hurling not-so-nice terms at each other.

-------

"Yo, Midget!" I called out to Langris as he walked out of HQ while I slumped in a beach chair I put outside the Golden Dawn, "Could you gimme my brush?"

"Why can't you? Don't order me around, peasant!"

"I'm lazy, isn't that quite obvious?" I gestured to my chair as I read an adorable romance book from Mimosa. I also made a space for me to read as well. There was a glass table in the middle, tea bags on the table, a little bookshelf beside me with a lamp on top, a cup for my tea, a seat beside me, a couch, a bigger bookshelf beside the said couch and a blanket on top. I built myself a little roof with some materials I found on missions such as logs of wood and palm leaves. The palm leaves were my roof and the logs held them up. I just created a barrier using my time magic so everything in the outside world is slower so I can spend more time reading! Also, I used my water magic to create almost like a shield for when it rains.

Many of the golden Dawn did not appreciate my water cube but Yuno came to visit and Mimosa stayed with me to read and drop off books every so often.

"C'mon Langrissssss," I groaned, "Just go to my room with your spatial magic, my brush's on my dresser, and come to meeeeeee!"

"Fine, lazy peasant."

"Thanks!"

Langris P.O.V.

I sighed in frustration. Ever since I saved that woman from that horrific man-thing, she doesn't seem intimidated by me anymore.

[She never was, Langris]

I entered her room. It was filled to the brim with books. What type of peasant girl reads like such a maniac?!

There were a few titles that caught my eye such as 'Astrology and Constellations' and 'The Backstory behind each constellation"

The first looked as if it had been read many times while the second looked as if no one had ever touched it.

I looked around for this so-called dresser and I saw the brush the peasant was talking about.

"Such a low-quality brush, tch."

I used my spatial magic to teleport to the commoner girl.

"Man, today's a good day, good weather," She muttered to herself.

"I guess..." I trailed off in agreement.

"Langris!" She jumped, "Holy Heck, don't scare me like that!"

"Wow, your hair is a mess," I emphasized, holding a few strands of her h/c hair.

"Thanks," She sarcastically replied, "Really feels good having someone tell me, midget."

Upon closer inspection, her hair was much more of a mess than I thought. Suddenly, I had this strong urge to brush it.

As if reading my mind, she chuckled a little, "You know Langris, you can brush it if you want to."

"I'm not doing it because I want to, I'm merely doing it because you asked me!" I declared as I covered up my face as I felt the temperature start to rise on my face.

"Langris, no one asked you," She turned around and stared at me with a malicious smirk splayed across her face but then her face softened, "But thanks...!" She said with a smile on her face.

I noticed how her eyes sparkled like the stars in the night sky when she smiled. My jaw slightly dropped in awe. Her hair... It was a lot smoother and beautiful than I had thought. Almost like silk. I dropped the brush in taking her visage.

"Langris?" She asked, "You good?"

I covered the blush on my face as I scowled, there was no way I could like a peasant!

"Stupid sunlight," I cursed, it must've been the sun, making me hallucinate.

Y/N P.O.V.

"...stupid sunlight..." I heard Langris mutter.

I know I didn't really like Langris a lot, but he's still someone I care about. I care about everyone in the Golden Dawn!

"Langris, did you get sunburned?!" I worriedly got up and looked at him.

"Get off of me!" He shoved me off of him.

"Hey!" I retorted, "I was just worried about you!"

"I'm fine."

I sighed, "Langris, don't act so cold. This is why I don't like you."

He turned around at me in confusion, scrunching his eyebrows. I laughed a little. He looked like an angry but confused puppy.

"I mean, I do like you, but there are sometimes you act a little bit without thinking," He gave me the most offended look he could muster. I cut him off before he said anything, "You can't be so cold to people you know? I mean, you have a fiancee, you can't just treat a girl like that."

"What do you know about love, commoner?" He looked at me condescendingly. I took it more as him wondering about love advice or something.

"Believe me, I know a thing or two about love, Langris-chan," putting an emphasis on chan.

"...what did you just call me?"

"Ran-gi-ru-su-chan~!" I sounded out.

He covered his face in disgust. (Like below but higher up so the blush isn't visible)

"I'm leaving!" He quickly walked out of my hut but I could see the tips of his ears were slightly flushed as I giggled a little at his cute demeanour.

-------

"Um, Y/N?" Langris asked, putting his hand through a spatial portal to tap onto my shoulder, "You ok?"

I snapped back to reality, "Yeah, thanks for worrying though, Langris-chan," I said, sticking out my tongue and winking.

"Don't call me that foolish nickname," He said, hitting the back of my head as he turned the other way.

"So..." I trailed off, "What are you doing out here?"

"Studying the sky."

"Ooh! So you know about the constellations?" I asked excitedly. Mimosa said there were a few love stories behind constellations but I didn't quite understand her. So I picked up a book! But all it is is information. No backstories.

"Yeah, it's a hobby I picked up."

"Why?" I asked inquisitively.

3rd P.O.V.

Langris immediately covered his face to hide his growing blush.

I can't tell her because I saw it in her room, right?! He thought.

"It's for someone I love," Langris replied while he cursed himself internally.

*Someone you love?! You love her?! She's a peasant, Langris! What are you thinking?! Plus she's so annoying! She's lazy! None of the qualities of a noble lady! Plus you have Finesse! But I don't want Finesse! I want y/n! What the heck, Langris!*He thought rapidly.

Y/N felt her heart ache for some reason as she forced a smile, "Your fiancee, right?"

"Huh?"

"Huh?"

"I mean, yeah!" Langris declared, wanting to avoid the subject.

"Hm, good for you," she smiled bittersweetly.

An awkward silence filled the air. Langris didn't enjoy it at all.

"Have you heard of the hope constellations?" Langris asked y/n, staring up at the sky.

"Hm...no," Y/N put a finger on her chin in thought, "Does it have a love story background or something?"

"Quite romantic actually."

Y/N looked at Langris in confusion. He didn't seem like the type of person to tall about romantic things.

"Go on," She gestured.

"Hajime and Chiaki. The two constellations of hope. Apparently, he was on the verge of despair, of giving up on hope, for his friends had been brutally murdered and Chiaki, his lover,  had died from the disease not too long ago. The disease was called Hanahaki, I believe."

"Hanahaki?" Y/N asked, tilting her head.

"Yes, Hanahaki, supposedly, they were soulmates, but once you find your soulmate, you suffer from Hanahaki."

"How horrible!" She gasped, "You find your loved one, only to die soon?!"

"It's quite gruesome actually. Vines grow inside of your lungs and slowly grow up to your throat until you suffocate."

"...Please just continue with the story."

"Okay, okay, just filling you in with some info," He raised his hands in his defence, "He was on the verge of rage and despair. Chiaki couldn't bear to see Hajime like this. Before he could do anything he would regret, Chiaki used whatever spiritual energy she had left before her soul ascended, to tell Hajime not to give up hope, and to never forget her. Filled with her love, he realized the grave consequences that would've come with his actions. He did not want to part from her nor did she. But as a gift for stopping her husband from creating havoc all over the world, she was granted the ability to ascend into a constellation with him, forever together, in the stars," Langris finished the story, then turned back into his cocky self, "I hope you don't delude yourself that me telling this story to you means anything! In fact, you should be-!"

He scrunched his face in confusion as he looked at Y/N as she wiped tears from her face.

"Why are you crying?" He asked in bewilderment.

"Why else, midget?!" She retaliated, "Because it's so cute!"

"Then why are you crying?"

"God, you're an idiot! It's such a romantic love story that it makes me want to cry!" She wiped her tears from her face and glared at Langris.

"Nevermind...emotional sap much..." He mumbled.

"Hey! I heard that!" She growled.

"Chill, I was just kidding! Anyways, if you look upwards and turn your head west of the North Star, you can see it."

"Really?" She looked up, " Nothing's there."

"That's what you think, but they are there. You just can't see them."

"Then they're not a constellation! Why would you tell me that?!"

"Hng..." He sighed, "Nevermind, you just don't understand, huh?"

"Wait...what do you mean?!" She cried, and with that he left to the inside of his room, leaving her unanswered.

She facepalmed, "Ugh, men, so confusing..."

Y/N's P.O.V.

I mean, today was semi-progressive... I got along with midget. He isn't so bad if you look past his stature and rude demeanor. He could be okay. He isn't as horrible as I thought he was. I guess he can make flustered faces too... Hm, I wonder how Yuno is doing... I mean, I can just go check on him if I want...

I guess I will!

I knocked on Yuno's door, "Yu~no!" I said, holding the 'u', "Yu~no, you there~?" I groaned, holding the end of "there."

"Hey, Y/N."

"Aw, you're not calling me N/N?"

"When did I call you that?"

"Never!" I said sticking out my tongue and putting my fist on my forehead in a cute manner, "But you could~!" I trailed off, smirking.

"If you want me to," He shrugged.

"Geez, Yuno, you can't be so naive," I pouted, "The next thing you know you're gonna be used by girls! I can't allow anything to happen to you as your friend!"

"We both know I'm not just a friend to you..." He trailed off, "Plus, you're the only one I act to like this..."

"W-What? Y-Yuno! W-Who taught you to be so sly?!" I blushed furiously at his coy manner while he remained unfazed.

"No one."

My shoulders slumped.

"Yuno, how am I supposed to compete against you in a battle of wits if you're gonna be teasing meeeeee?"

"It's getting late, you should get to bed."

"Ughhhhhhh, fine, Mama Yuno," I pouted.

"Don't call me that."

"Geez, geez, Yuno, chill, it was just a joke!" I sweat under his gaze, "Fine, see ya tomorrow, Yuno."

Bonus: In Y/N's sleep:

*Sigh...* It's so disappointing...

What is, Ryuji?

That our current host can't even summon half of her abilities, what else, Baka-rugi?

Oh yeah! I'm sure she just needs practice!

If only everyone had that optimist attitude...

Optimist attitude is exactly what you need the most, with your mopey, sorry, sad sack ass.

That's not nice!

Life isn't nice, neither is the fact you can't have Y/N because she's human.

Wah-! Don't make me gloomy like Ruji too!

It can't be helped... We aren't allowed to fall in love with humans anyways, remember?

Especially if they're our contract hosts.
