KornDen part 2/4
One week later
A week has passed since Korn went to the hospital, met Den, and found out that Tonkla has a boyfriend.
Nothing has changed in those days, except that he occasionally texted the bizarre doctor, and that Great decided to make Nan, the woman who sent the information about the mess, run away.
At first he didn't know why Great did it, but knowing his brother, he knew there were reasons behind it, so before doing anything he preferred to ask him in person. He said that he did it to save the life of an innocent person who was dear to the boy he was in love with. Tyme, that was the name of the boy Great had feelings for.
To Korn, it seemed absurd that Great would choose to side with someone he actually knew for a short time. However, when Great told him that she felt some kind of connection with him, as if she had known him for a long time, Korn thought it had something to do with the 4 minutes he can see into the future. As much as he found the whole situation absurd, he trusted his brother.
Even though they had a different mother, their relationship, since they were little, has always been one of affection and mutual respect. They never argued heavily about anything, before they were brothers they were best friends.
Korn had the responsibility as the older brother, he felt obliged to protect Great from any danger, which is why he had hidden the whole mess from him, which he found out thanks to Tyme anyway.
Their relationship was so sincere that even in that situation they had just discussed, not argued excessively. They had talked and had cleared things up, they had understood each other.
Despite this, in that period of time, Korn had managed to find some interesting information about Tyme's family, after Great had explained the whole situation to him, and he had decided to talk to him, also to understand what his intentions would be.
Through Great, he had asked him to meet, and as the meeting place he had thought of his brother's apartment, so as not to arouse too much suspicion.
That's why at that moment, he was in the car just to go there. It was eight in the evening and outside it was already dark, the lights were illuminating the city and the moon was shining in the dark sky, decorated with numerous white dots, commonly called stars.
There was a nice atmosphere, enlivened by the presence of a light fresh wind.
In about twenty minutes he arrives at his brother's apartment, takes the red elevator until he arrives near the door, where the bell rings.
Great opens the door for him and greets him with a smile, inviting him to come in. His brother points out a figure near the window who is looking out at the landscape outside.
As soon as he hears the door slam he turns and Korn finally manages to see Tyme's face.
"Come on, let's sit down." Great urges the two to sit at the table to try to ease the tension.
"We finally meet, Dr. Tyme," Korn says.
"Were you curious about the face of the person who gave you that wound to your neck?" Tyme points to Korn's neck, which had a scar on it.
"I was actually curious about the face of the man my brother decided to turn his back on me for." Korn smiles sarcastically.
Great can sense the lack of sympathy between the two so he scolds them and asks them to speak maturely.
Korn takes out a file from a folder he had brought and hands it to Tyme.
"What is it?" Tyme asks in an annoyed tone.
"Proof that it wasn't my family that took your family's life and that they were the ones involved in the mess in the first place." Korn adds.
Great looks at Korn in disbelief at what he just said and then looks at Tyme, who is also frozen in place as he looks at the papers, made up of authentic photos and information.
"That's not possible." Tyme shakes his head and then looks at Korn and Great.
"It is possible, instead. My family was in financial trouble and it was your parents who helped us, involving us in the illegal mess." Korn explains.
"But if it wasn't your parents then who took my parents' lives?" asks the doctor.
"I have no idea who did it but I will do everything I can to prove to you that my family had nothing to do with it." Korn states confidently.
"Until this illegal mess ends I will not stop tormenting your family." Tyme reiterates.
Korn sighs and then replies: "Okay, I can't change your mind but you have to promise me that you will not involve my brother in this anymore."
"Korn this is none of your business, I have the right to help Tyme if I want to, I'm not a child anymore, and what our parents do is wrong and you know it too." his brother replies.
"Yeah, your family continues to exploit people and create bloodshed, and yet you won't try to stop them, why?" Tyme asks.
"I don't have enough power to stop this. Our father has other allies, other powerful men on his side, how can I stop this alone? Do you know how much I hate this role that my father has entrusted to me? I hate this situation but I am helpless, Tyme." Korn states bitterly.
"And Fasai? She also has a lot of power, don't you think that with some deal she could help us?" Great asks.
"Fasai gets her power from her father but her father is not on our side, so she is totally useless. Even this absurd relationship, that our father wanted, with her is a joke." Korn lets out a laugh full of sadness.
"I still have the evidence that Nan sent me, they won't be necessary but they are already something to try to stop what is happening." Tyme continues.
"And what do you want to do with this evidence? Give it to the police? So my father will have it permanently erased like he did with the footage of Great when he ran over that woman who miraculously survived? Tyme, the world of the rich sucks, and what sucks even more is the fact that whoever has the most money wins the game." Korn concludes.
"So this will never end? Are you telling me that all the dead people, that my parents, will never have justice because whoever comes up with the most money wins?" Tyme asks, raising his voice, even though he knew in his heart that Korn's words were true.
"I didn't decide this, it's always been this way." Korn lowers his gaze, knowing that nothing can change things.
Great gets up and goes to Tyme to pat him on the shoulder as if to calm him down, when suddenly something quite unusual happens.
Great's head starts to throb, he feels a pain that almost makes him bend over. At this point he has a vision.
He can't understand how long it's been going on, all he hears are the muffled voices of Korn and Tyme calling him.
Then he sees total black.
Korn is pacing around Great's apartment. He doesn't understand what just happened to his brother.
It's like he fainted, it's been two minutes since it happened and he still hasn't recovered.
"Are you sure he's okay?" he asks Tyme, who is sitting next to his bed.
"Are you questioning my medical knowledge?" Tyme asks.
"I'm not, but why hasn't he woke up yet?" Korn asks.
"Fainting doesn't mean you'll recover in a few moments, it could be several minutes. But both his breathing and heartbeat are regular, so there's nothing to worry about." Tyme replies.
"Okay." Korn tries to calm himself and sits down in a chair.
"You and Great are very close, aren't we?" the doctor asks.
"We always have been." Korn replies.
"Great really loves you, he always speaks highly of you, so even though he's with me now, don't doubt his trust in you." Tyme reassures him.
"Just to clarify, I'm not mad at you because you're now engaged to my brother, I just don't want Great involved in this, I couldn't stand for something to happen to him. He's the only family member I have left." Korn speaks honestly.
"What about your parents?" Tyme asks.
"My father doesn't respect me and treats me like I'm a puppet, Great's mother always tries to blame me for any casino problems. I don't like my family very much." Korn looks down.
"Did your mother and father divorce?" Tyme asks.
"Yes, it was a long time ago. Then my mother commited suicide." Korn replies.
Tyme wasn't expecting that so she apologizes to Korn for asking him that question.
"I won't let anything happen to Great, I promise." Tyme adds.
"I hope so for you, otherwise I'll put you in the hospital." Korn jokes with a smile, which Tyme returns.
Suddenly they hear Great moving from the bed, it had been 4 minutes since he lost consciousness.
He sits on the bed, with Tyme's help, and massages his head.
"Great, how are you feeling?" Korn asks.
"What happened?" asks the boy visibly confused.
"You passed out and were unconscious for 4 minutes." Tyme replies.
Suddenly a tear falls from Great's left eye. His eyes were wet, as if he had been crying in his sleep. When he feels the tear running down his cheek, he is shocked for a moment too. Then it seems as if something has come back to him, enough to make him make a worried face. He takes Tyme's hand and squeezes it.
"I know who killed your parents." Great says.
"What do you mean?" Tyme asks confused.
"In these 4 minutes that I was unconscious I had a vision and I saw the face of the person who killed your parents." he replies, but leaves the sentence hanging as if he doesn't have the courage to say the rest.
"And it's the same person who will kill your grandmother and you." he concludes.
Korn and Tyme look at each other, frightened by Great's words.
"How can we be sure that this will happen?" asks Korn.
"I don't know, but it's like I've been through this before." adds his brother.
"You've never had visions after touching me and even fainted before, why is this happening now?" asks Tyme, unable to think of a logical answer.
"I have no idea, but we have to prevent this from happening. You have to be careful, Korn will get you a gun." Great says, still holding his hand.
"I already have a gun in my house, stored somewhere. On the other hand, could you recognize the man you saw in your vision?" asks Tyme.
"Yes, I could recognize him but I wouldn't know where to look for him." Great replies.
"Maybe he's someone our father knows, I wouldn't be surprised if he wanted to take you away from Tyme. Maybe he found out that he was the person who received the information about the mess." adds Korn.
"Anyway, we need to talk to Den about this. He told me he was going to look at other cases like Great this week, see if he could get any more information." Tyme continues.
"Well, I'll talk to Den about it. Great, you just rest, I'm going home. See you, Tyme." Korn says goodbye to both of them under Tyme's confused look but under Great's mischievous smile.
"I'm going too, I have to go back to my grandmother, she can't stay alone. If anything's wrong, call me, okay?" Tyme turns to Great before saying goodbye and pressing a kiss on his lips.
He leaves the apartment and joins Korn towards the elevator, he can't help but ask him.
"Since when have you been close to Den?" he asks, almost making Korn blush.
"I'm not that close to him, we just talk every now and then, that's all." Korn answers honestly.
"Maybe I figured out why Den was smiling on the phone these days." Tyme teases him.
"Really? Weird, he never smiles." Korn jokes.
"Well, to smile on the phone, it will be someone really special." he continues to tease him.
"What's the matter, until a few minutes ago you wanted to rip my head off and now you have fun making jokes as if we've been friends forever?" Korn asks him, raising his eyebrow.
At that point, Tyme, in a very funny way, composes himself and doesn't add anything else even if he felt like laughing a little at the whole absurd situation.
When they get out of the elevator, everyone goes their separate ways. Korn once in the car decides to call Den.
"Hello?" he answers after two rings.
"I'm sorry to bother you at this hour, but I need to see you." Korn explains.
"Do you miss me? In fact, since we met in that bar a week ago we've only spoken on the phone every now and then, so it's understandable." Den jokes.
"This one was always joking, but how does he do it?" Korn thought to himself.
"Very funny, but the reason I want to see you is different." Korn continues.
"Let's hear it." Den urges him to continue.
"It's about Great, something happened a while ago and I need to talk to you about it, Tyme also told me that this week you visited other patients like Great to see if you could find out anything." Korn answers.
"Yes, I actually found out some new information, in fact I was just studying all my research right now, just to find a connection." Den says.
"Well, then text me your home address, and I'll come to your house." Korn asks him.
"No problem, I'll text you right away. See you in a bit." Den concludes and then ends the call.
When he gets the location via text he realizes that it was almost thirty minutes away from Great's apartment. The doctor had decided to live on the other side of town, really awesome. Korn however, sets out to get to his house. He needs to find out what's going on and if Den can give him some answers about his brother's situation then it's worth the half hour drive. And then, to be honest, he wanted to see Den again. During that week they texted every now and then and Den tried to flirt with him in every way, some messages made him laugh, others smile. He was a bit of a weird guy to look at, as if he had a huge secret to hide. However, he was also nice and funny, Korn even found him cute. Only when he smiled was he a bit creepy, he would continue to think that until the end of his days probably.
After exactly half an hour he arrives at Den's house, strangely there is no traffic. When the intercom rings the gate is opened for him and when he reaches the threshold of the door he doesn't have time to knock before Den opens the door for him.
He is wearing a black short-sleeved shirt and a gray tracksuit, it was strange to see him in clothes other than the hospital gown.
"Come in." Den invites him in.
"Sorry to bother you at this hour but I need to talk to you." Korn huffs as he is a bit tired after a busy day.
"You're not bothering me at all, do you want a glass of water? You look a little pale. Are you sure you're okay?" Den comes closer to his face and puts his hand on his forehead to feel the temperature. Korn feels himself getting hot but tries not to notice so he simply replies that he is fine but that he won't refuse a glass of water.
"Thanks." he adds once he has drunk.
"You're welcome. So, what happened to Great? I hope nothing serious." Den asks.
"Something strange happened to him that had never happened to him before. When he touched Tyme he started having a strong pain in his head, he fainted and lost consciousness for 4 minutes and when he woke up he said he had a clear and vivid vision of Tyme." Korn explains.
"Wait, he didn't see 4 minutes into the future but when he touched Tyme he had a vision of him? What kind of vision?" Den asks sitting on the stool next to the kitchen counter, followed by Korn, who sits on the one next to him.
"He saw Tyme's death." Korn confesses wistfully.
"Anything more detailed?" Den asks again.
"He saw the person who killed Tyme's parents and also Tyme himself." Korn replies.
"And he doesn't know this person in real life?" the doctor asks.
"He doesn't know this person but he said he would be able to recognize them if he saw them." Korn clarifies.
"Well, okay, let me take notes on the situation." Den gets up and takes out his notebook.
Korn at that moment realizes how much his house is decorated with paintings related to medicine and in particular psychology and the study of the mind, he was very fascinated.
"If you find out anything else let me know, so I can compare everything I have available." Den asks him.
Korn nods and then says: "I'm not understanding anything anymore, I'm going out of my mind. Plus, as if that wasn't enough, Great is acting strange and says that he feels like he's already experienced these situations, but how can that be possible?"
"Wait, what did you say? Say it again." something clicks in Den's head.
"I said that Great feels like these things have happened to him before. Why do you ask?" Korn asks.
"When he had the vision, Great wasn't having a cardiac arrest, was he?" Den asks to be sure.
"No, he just passed out." Korn replies.
"So not all patients have 4 minutes visions have a cardiac arrest." Den is thinking.
"What do you mean? Please explain." Korn asks.
"I need to analyze this new information well with that of the other patients. I think that's the key element, the fact that Great feels like he's been through these moments before. Maybe there could be a much more absurd explanation behind it than we think." Den continues.
"What were you thinking?" Korn asks.
"Maybe Great is living his life between two different timelines." The doctor replies.
Before Korn can answer, he adds:
"It's crazy even for me as a doctor, but I'm almost sure that's the case. Anyway, I've been working all day and now I'm tired, so if you don't mind, I'll try to find an answer in the next few days."
"Sure, don't worry. You're already doing a lot for Great and I thank you." Korn smiles at him.
"It's my job, and it's my pleasure." Den puts a hand on his knee.
Korn looks at his hand and then looks up at Den who is staring at his lips.
The doctor leans closer to his face and touches his neck with his hand before saying, "you have a scar left." referring to his wound.
"You have your friend to thank for this." he jokes.
"My friend? Who are you talking about?" Den asks, visibly confused and removing his hand from his neck.
"Tyme, Tyme did this to me." he replies.
"What? And why would he do that?" the doctor asks again.
"It's a long story but I'm pretty tired after this day too so maybe I'll tell you another time, okay?" Korn asks.
"No problem." Den replies.
At that point Korn gets up from the stool as if he is about to leave, but Den stops him and grabs his hand pulling him towards him.
"Korn." he calls back.
"I'm glad you stopped by, I was dying to see you." following Den's words, Korn turns to him and approaches his stool.
"Tyme told me that you've been smiling on the phone lately when you're in the hospital, is that true?" Korn asks a little embarrassed.
"If you're wondering if your texts are the reason I'm smiling, the answer is yes." Den replies, on the contrary, without embarrassment.
"Why are you always so cheeky?" Korn asks, letting out a laugh.
"I'm just being honest and telling the truth without too many turns of phrase." Den shrugs.
"Can I tell you the truth without too many turns of phrase?" Korn asks.
Den nods.
"The truth is that right now I really want to kiss you." Korn confesses, looking first into his eyes and then at his lips.
Before Korn could do anything else, Den brings him closer, grabbing his face and uniting their lips.
We start changing frantically, Den gets up from the stool and at that point, being taller than Korn, the latter stands on tiptoe to be able to continue kissing him.
Den kisses his neck and starts unbuttoning the buttons of his shirt.
Korn instead takes off the black short-sleeved shirt he is wearing.
They continue to kiss and touch each other continuously, as if they had been waiting for that moment forever. In the meantime they head towards the sofa.
This time it is Korn who kisses his neck, after ending up on top of him on the sofa. Den squeezes his hips and with his hand he lifts his chin to join their lips again.
At that point Korn starts kissing his chest and goes lower and lower until he reaches the elastic of yours, which he decides to lower so he can take it off.
Den unbuttons his black pants and slides them down his legs.
They both remain in their boxers, breathless and with so much desire in their eyes.
Korn decides to slide a hand into his boxers and start touching him, Den throws his head back panting.
"Do you like it?" asks Korn.
"Keep going." Den urges him.
At that point Korn pulls his boxers down completely and does the same with his.
Both remain naked.
"What are you doing?" asks Den.
"Close your eyes." Korn invites him and then stretches out almost on top of him again and takes both of their members in his hand and starts rubbing them together. Den initially opens his eyes wide in surprise, then lets himself be carried away.
Korn starts with slow movements, but when he starts to hear Den panting he speeds up the pace and the room starts to fill with their voices breathless with pleasure, voices that start to fade after reaching orgasm at the same time.
At that point, still panting, they look into each other's eyes and rest their foreheads against each other smiling, then Korn lets himself fall on Den's body, who wraps his arms around his back with both hands and leaves a kiss on his hair.
"Maybe we should clean ourselves up, don't you think?" After Den asks that question, Korn bursts out laughing. He can't believe what just happened.
"Are you suggesting we take a shower together?" Korn asks, looking up at Den.
"Unless you want to end up with cum stuck on your stomach, I don't think you should say no." The doctor replies.
At that point Korn gets up and follows Den to his bathroom, they get into the shower and instead of washing themselves they start playing with the water and tickling each other.
"Come on, stop it." Den laughs under Korn's touch.
Korn laughs in turn and stops tickling him.
At that point Den starts to soap Korn, turned from behind, starting from his fine hair to his arms and then to his chest.
"Turn around." Den tells him.
Korn does so and the doctor creates a mustache with the foam. The latter then approaches him, joining their lips together and also staining himself with foam under his nose.
Once the shower is over, Den lends him a pair of pajamas even if they are a bit long given their height difference.
"Are you staying here to sleep? It's late at night now, you shouldn't go home now." he asks anyway.
Korn nods and then asks him: "I have to get up early tomorrow morning to take care of some errands and I also have to stop by Great's house, what shift do you have at the hospital?"
"I start tomorrow morning at 8 so we can hang out together." Den smiles at him.
"Okay, where are you going to let me sleep?" Korn asks him.
"In my bed, where do you think you're going to run away to?" Den continues, grabbing the hem of his shirt that goes over his hand and dragging him to bed with him.
"You know that with your hair down you look like a different person?" Den points out as they both get into bed.
"Should I take this as a compliment or not?" Korn asks him.
"It's a compliment." Den is keen to point out.
"You look different without your glasses too but not that much, you still have the same creepy smile." Korn confesses.
Den looks at him with a raised eyebrow and almost laughs: "in what way creepy?"
"I don't know but you are a little. The first time I saw you I thought you were a suspicious guy with dark secrets." Korn also laughs as he answers.
"Why do you and Tyme think I'm creepy? You should stop." Den continues.
"Tyme thinks that too? I can't believe it, Great didn't believe me when I said that, that kid." Korn gestures.
"I guess Great told you what I thought of you the first time you came to the hospital." Den looks at him with a funny expression on his face.
"Only you could be so bold." Korn pats him on the shoulder.
Den hugs him from behind and they stay like that for a while, then they exchange goodnights and fall into a deep sleep.
After many days, Korn falls asleep with a smile on his face.
That night was the night before many hidden truths that would be revealed later, starting from his family to his forced relationship with Fasai. How would Den react?
