Jimin watched as his fake boyfriend and younger brother had a pillow fight while watching a movie. It was nice that Jungkook and Sungwon got along so well, but it made Jimin feel guilty - what if Sungwon was getting too attached? Jimin wished he'd kept their families out of the lie completely
Later
Jimin was helping Jungkook clean up the kitchen after the dinner with Jungkook's family
"Hey, I'm really sorry about my mom bringing up...you know" Jungkook stopped loading the dishes and looked at Jimin.
"No, it's okay, it's kind of nice talking about my mom like it's normal. Like it's not some tragedy" Jimin shrugged handing Jungkook a plate.
Jungkook nodded but didn't respond.
Jimin glanced at Jungkook before carefully asking, "Is it weird not having your dad around?"
Jungkook looked down at the floor with a sigh, "It's not as weird as it used to be. Sometimes I walk around the house and see that he's not in any of the pictures anymore, though and I...I really miss him. You know?" Jungkook looks at Jimin
Jimin nodded gently.
"But then I think about all the things he's doing with his new family that he used to do with us and I get so mad that I'm glad he's gone" Jungkook shrugged.
Jimin met Jungkook's eyes. He could see the vulnerability in them.
"You don't mean that" Jimin said gently, "You can be mad at someone and still miss them."
Jungkook nodded dropping his eyes back to the floor
"I bet you really miss your mom huh?" Jungkook asked his eyes meeting Jimin's once more.
"Yeah, every day" Jimin whispered with a nod. His eyes dropping to his hands, "But you know it's.. it's been so long now, you know that...okay it's like this. I'll be doing my homework, or I'll be washing dishes and or something and I'm thinking about my family and I forget that there was a time where it wasn't just my dad and my brothers. And it, it only happens for like a quarter of a second, but...I feel really really guilty about it" Jimin turned back to Jungkook. "I've never told anyone that before"
"I mean I get it" Jungkook nodded carefully, "It makes sense to me" Jungkook paused, "I don't actually hate my dad, I didn't mean it like that. At least he's not, you know..." Jungkook trailed off.
"Dead?" Jimin finished.
"Sorry" Jungkook stepped closer to Jimin.
Jimin chuckled slightly, "It's okay, it's actually really nice to have someone to talk to about this stuff. You're a good listener" Jimin smiled at Jungkook.
"Yeah?" Jungkook smiled back.
Jimin only nodded.
"Why thank you. You are too" Jungkook said honestly
Jimin flashed him a small smile before walking out of the kitchen and Jungkook let out a breath he didn't know he was holding in – he didn't understand what he was feeling but he knew whatever it was, Jimin wouldn't feel anything for him.
