Breathe in, breathe out. Breathe in to the count of five, breathe out to the count of five. Breathe in to the count of five, hold to the count of five then breathe out to the count of five.
It does help you settle, and you realise the futility of anxiety and worry, the uselessness of anger and frustration, the frivolousness of stress and strain. You relax and empty your mind, for a few seconds, or even a couple of minutes, you are at peace, with yourself and with the world, in sync with the rhythm of your breath. Calm. Quiet.
