What is a rainbow? What is at its end?

It is an arch of seven colours that brighten up the skies,

And does it really end, none ever found out.

A pot of gold at its end, that is what the stories say.

Harrumph, says the physicist, it is just a play of light,

Caused when a raindrop becomes a prism for a sun ray.

A sign of hope and symbol of spiritual cohesion, with religion 

stating that it is God's promise not to destroy the world in a flood

Poets call it a bridge between the earth and the sky,

Dreamer believe a it to be a harbinger of happiness,

A double one signifying serendipity.

But irrespective of what is said and told,

A rainbow is a beautiful sight to behold,

And who cares what is at the end of one,

When seeing it itself brings peace and calm.
