Maya

After reaching home i had much wanted sleep, it's almost 2pm now. Nene came and gave her part of lecture, then dad came and we had lunch together and now my friends turn and my lovely shop.

 I made it to my car and it beeps no petrol, i called driver uncle and he filled it. i made it to my shop. "good afternoon mam i missed you" Jeremy hollered as soon as i reached to the door with a "coffee mousse in his hands and the was standing chef with him."

"thank you Jeremy" i thanked all of them and i started checking my shops accounts. and my phone beeped. " today's dinner with us at 1522 my dear?" Priya texted. i replied ok. i brought their gifts with me i knew we would all meet. my phone beeped again.

"we should discuss before press meet do let me know the comfortable day" how rude of him. no hi no bye, direct to the affair it seems. 

Mahesh

I'm in office checking on my meetings in 10 minutes, and i texted Maya about press conference. i heard my phone ringing. caller ID says "Maya". i received.

"Don't you have manors to talk at least?" with rage she hollered i can sense it.

" Maya, cool, what happened?" i can hear her breathing loud. she did not respond.

"Maya you there?" she hummed response. "what happened?"

"No hi, no hello, how dare you send me the text?" what's this suppose to mean.

"Ok, I'm sorry " no response. "Maya i have meeting in 10 minutes can we meet today evening?"

"No i wont meet you, bye for now" and she disconnected, what was that, i was never treated the way she is doing with me now, girls use to roam around me. did i had to enquire about her weatherboards she was fine yesterday so i thought there was no need. and knock on my door brought me back from Maya.

"Sir, meeting in 2 minutes" i nodded to my PA.

"Good afternoon. i checked the file had been submitted to me. everything is fine but" everyone raised their heads up herring me.

"But what sir?" one of the employee raised a question and got up. "Mr. Rao please sit" he sat

" There was document missing name called 'Prakash Patel'? why is that? did you people wanted me to look after everything? then why I'm i hiring people to work? when i could do everything myself?" Mr. Rao lowered his head, i didn't wanted to bring out my rage but these situation what they had created, way to careless than what Maya just did with me.

"Sir I'm sorry, i will take care of that in few minutes" asking for permission Mr. Rao barged out. and the meeting ended. i walked back to my cabin and Rao bought the file which asked for.

Taking look at that "Mr. Rao how can you be so careless? on the customer who pays us more than 20 lacs per month, and that to just handling his GST and TAX?" he was hesitating to answer.

"Im asking you something Mr. Rao?" i never thought i would use such tone with  him.

"Si, Sir, you father asked me to keep this aside, and he had to tell you regarding this" he was trembling. "you can leave now" he walked out. what is it dad had to talk? he never came into the business of mine before? i had got thinking and dad called.

"Hello my dear, how are you?" dad was normal.

"I'm fine dad, sorry i couldn't meet on breakfast" 

"It's fine my son, and i had to talk to you regarding Prakash Patel?" he seems to be in happy mood.

"Dad you would have told me earlier, i lashed out on Mr. Rao on that missing file, by the way what is it?"

"Son, he is my friend and he has a daughter who is writer, when we met last week he told me about her and i want you to publish her book?"

"Dad you can't promise every friend of yours taking my name?" I'm disappointed now, dad does this every time.

"This is second time I'm asking for something Mr. remember?" he has such good memory, but he is right i think i got stuck now.

"Ok, ok, fine, ask her to meet me day after tomorrow, but dad if i don't want it to be printed then you won't force me?"

"Sure, i won't " and he disconnected. now i should deal with grumpy Maya. 

Maya

Time flew by and it's  6pm already, i packed my bag and called my brother to join me for dinner. but i know he would have got the news from his so called pet Sara. i walked to café and it is filled a guy waved his hand. i walked to him.

"Yes sir, you need something? he seems to be searching for something.

"Mam don't you remember me? i met you in flight" ohh shit i totally forgot, i offered him job.

"Sorry, i had been busy all day, i asked you to call me?" asking i held paper and pen. "write your details and mail me your CV and HR will call you back" he filled and handed me the paper back and left.

I went to kitchen, "Ram how's it going?" the kitchen is also fully packed,

"Good mam, we had been very busy lately" i nodded and came back. informing Jeremy i took my car keys and made it to the front door. oww i hit my head to something hard, i raised my eyes to see what it is, i froze all of sudden there was this feeling again.

"What are you doing here?" without glancing i asked him.

"Maya try listening me once, i had been busy so i just went straight to the point" he seems concerned, i know he . (TN : so she knows that he cares if she is in good mood or not? still she acts?)

"Mahesh it's fine, even i was busy but still i, but what did you do? just message?"

"Sorry, sorry, sorry" i couldn't hold my mouth i lashed laughing. he seems calm.

"Ok, fine stop it now" saying we walked to my cabin. he sat and he started observing it.

Mahesh

I sat and this cabin looks same as mine in Paris, black walls, grey furniture, a white wall off awards.

"I'm really sorry, i was in bad mood when you called me" i tightened my smile.

"it's fine, this is the way a publisher treats his writer, i just got to understand".  this sucks, when Maya lashes such words. and her sad face makes me even more sad.

"Maya forget it now" and she nodded raising her cheeks.

"you wanna try something from my kitchen" she held her landline and i got hold of her hand. nodding no.

"I asked you about dinner?" i raised my eyebrows. she pouted.

"Umm. no, i have plans today so? after our press meet?" she sat straight.

"Fine, not a problem, by the way how are you?" i was holding not to laugh.

"You think it was funny sending direct text?" she squinted her eyes. i nodded. "fine then". saying she turned away.

"Here" she handed me a bag, what is this now? anyway i opened it.

"Raspberry bars?" she nodded.

"You liked it so much, i got the recipe from Raff and made it myself, teste it and tell me how's it?" i couldn't believe my ears, she did it for me. i had a bite i should agree its tasty.

"Ahh, Maya this is far better than Raff's recipe" she smiled and her eyes twinkled.

"Thank you and i should leave now so?" i understood i should get out.

"It's ok," i stood up and a girl walked in.

"Di I'm coming with you?" talking she saw me and i can recognize that shocking expressions. Maya got up.

"Sara this is Mahesh my book publisher, and Mahesh Sara my friend" saying she turned to me and nodded her head towards the girl. i didn't get it at first then i understood. i extended my hand.

"Hello Miss" she was still in other world it seems.

Maya

I don't know how to handle Sara in front of handsome man? i walked to Sara and stood behind her. "Sara don't make yourself fool in front of him" then she grunted and extended her hand.

'Hi, I think you should join us on dinner now?" what the hell is she talking about.  I stared at Sara but she doesn't seem registering my stare.

"Sara my dear" with harmonic voice i took glance at her again but no use at all. i agreed i always defeat convincing Sara. she is still fantasizing about Mahesh it seems,

"Nooo" i yelled and Mahesh took glance at me asking what is going through his eyes. and Sara also turned to me i narrowed my eyes at her and dragged her to sit opposite to me.

"Maya what's going" i thought he would be quite for sometime but no my bad. i looked at him smiling.

"Mahesh she fantasize every handsome man who ever she meets so?" he narrowed his eyes on me now. and Sara stood up.

"So?" his smirk got my attention. "So, di doesnt want me to dream about you handsome" Sara spoke at last. " i hope she came into reality?" and he nodded.

"Ok, so i should get going now?" he got up and turned. but this bitch here also got up.

"Can you please wait a sec?" asking she walked out and he looked at me, i motioned my hands showing i don't no.

Mahesh

That girl came back  "we are having dinner tonight and all our friends what to meet you so badly?" and i couldn't say no but still i don't want to spoil Mayas dinner with friends? so i took glance at her. and she was throwing daggers at that girl.

"I don't mind, but i was anyway going" saying i got up but this girl wouldn't leave me it seems she spoke again. " you should join" saying she turned to Maya and did the same. she nodded to me.

"Ok fine" me and Sara marched to door without asking Maya, and Maya walked to me.

"Please don't mind her, she sometimes brings out her real character" saying she raised her eyes to me, this look has something which she isn't saying, i know she doesn't want me to join? and that hesitation, looks like she don't want me around much as i wish to be with her? we nestled looking at each other, "O, hello shall we move?" that girl hollered and we walked to parking.

"Maya if you don't fancy me joining? it's fine i could convince this girl?" but that girl already sat inside a black Audi Q7.

"No, Mahesh it's not that way, and please do join" with pursed lips. she unlocked her car. "I'll drive you, while coming we could come here and take your car" i nodded and we sat. that little girl still seems to be in mars. how come a little girl could be Maya's friend?

"Maya this girl might in her 20s isn't she?" i asked out of curiosity.

Nodding "yeah, you might be thinking how could she be my friend?" and i nodded. "i'll explain later, if that's not all-important?" with direct eye contact.

"Look at the road" she turned away. we reached 1522 in 1hr and the time is 7.45pm.

"Maya i'll be there in 5 minutes, you go and meet your friends" she didn't move but the little girl barged in without looking at us.

"I could wait if you want?" with blank stare. i nodded and called my mom. "mom i won't be home for dinner?" and she signed.

"Jathin is not in the city? then with whom you are with Mahesh?" my mom need every detail on with whom i eat and drink. "mom with a friend, so bye" and i swift to Maya. 'she was looking the elevator and biting on her nails'. i shuck her shoulders and she jumped. " what are you thinking?" she shrugged.

"Nothing, come" we both walked in. a waiter came and hi-fived with her. and 1 more guy smiled at her and she returned.

"you know them?" she nodded. "how?'

"We friends frequently come here so and i love the food they serve " we walked past 5 tables and i found a group of 5 people. an old man, and a lady in her 40s it seems and her brother, a guy who might me our age.

"Hello fatty," i guy pulled her cheeks and she rubbed and sat, i was still standing. her brother got up walked to me.

"Guys this is Maya's new publisher 'Mahesh Ediga'" and i shake hands with everyone. and i sat next to Maya. and they ordered, i seem to enjoy their company, everyone calling Maya a fatty, but to me she doesn't seem fat why are they calling her fatty? and all of us got mingled. but that girl Sara's shy look didn't fade away? and that lady's glance is pinning me with something.

Maya took glance at me raising her eyes and biting her lower lip i nodded, she leaned on to uncle and said something and they started laughing, "tell us also so we could also get into your company?" i spoke and they sniggered again.

"It's there drama Mahesh" Mayank looked at me. "and uncle thinks your handsome" Priya turned to me. i nodded. it's good having friends but so many? well Maya seems carefree, funny, serious  and everything. all of sudden she got up.

"Where are you going?" i also got up, they all started guffawing on us. she turned to them and widened her eyes, i sat anyway.

"i'll be back in few minutes" saying she walked past our table and Priya also followed her. i loved there company, uncle patted beside him i changed my place and sat.

"You seem to have something on Maya? am i right handsome?' uncle narrowed his eyes me, i don't know what to say?.

"Uncle, she is friend of mine" and uncle nodded. i had good chat with Charan and Mayank, and they all love Sara, they all respect Maya. they are all not like friends i had, these people are normal, Maya walked back and sat next to me. we had dessert at last and checked out.

"Fatty im dropping uncle you go with Mahesh" her brother said and walked past us. "Sara i will drop you" charan walked to his car. "Priya come i will drop you" saying Maya walked to her car. i stood there itself. she turned to face me "Mahesh" thank god she did think about me. i walked to her.

"Priya sat at back seat, Maya started driving.
