Marie Lee is a Korean-Chinese doctor living in Scae Chor, Castacya.

A medical city next to the border of her country, Castacya and the Protector's country, Anaris. A country that spans from West China all the way to South Korea. Being a doctor meant that she was a Healer.

She is the head doctor and one of the best in her country to ever exist. She has seen more deaths than she can count and she has saved more lives than her lifetime's worth.

Being one of the best meant that all eyes were on her - both public and private. She knew that if she's seen with someone suspicious, her head will be on a silver platter.

So she stayed clear of the boundaries even though her heart kept pulling her to cross the border. She kept her heart under a block of lies and fake smiles. She kept herself focused in her work, her fingers never letting go of her stethoscope. Until she had to drive to the hospital for an emergency.

And her car lost control and crashed into a tree at the side of the road - right next to the boundary fence.

And the eternal cogs of time of her destined future will finally start turning.

Julian Seo is a Korean-American military Special Forces Lieutenant. In other words, a Protector who took an oath to die for his country no matter what circumstance.

He lives in Plura Anaia, Acaris.

An elite military city situated near the border of their country Acaris and the Healer's country, Castacya. Acaris is a country which spans the rest of China.

Julian is known in his city as one of the best Lieutenants for his rationality and quick-thinking in the heat of battle. He is also known to be an extreme, ruthless, killing human machine. He is known for being harsh to Healers who trespass from Castacya to Acaris with each Healer getting an immediate shot to the head.

So when he finds a crushed car next to the boundary fence on the Castacya side with smoke coming out from it, he was incredibly suspicious.

Until he saw a woman wearing a white lab coat on the driver's seat, her body covered in blood.

And his heart of ice suddenly started to beat.
