The thing about pictures is that you can

only see what is shown

You can't tell whether or not the facial

expressions displayed are real or faux

And that's what's wrong with this world

No one seems to be looking past the outside

When the truth really lies on the inside

People can only see what you choose to show 'em

To them, a happy and kind girl is what I am

But all an image is; is a lie

On the outside I am whole, but on the inside I am broken

For me, happiness seems to be a ban

I smile, I laugh, and let em play over and over

As if I were a broken record player

Because I'm just an image; a lie

I try escaping this fake ass reality

Because I truly am unhappy

But it doesn't matter how I feel

Because I'm just an image; I'll never be real

I'll only show what they want to see........
