Full prompt: Have you Ever Experienced Something That Just Could not be Logically Explained

The picture confused him. A great white bird fling from the waves in Serion. It was a memory, and he did not doubt his memory. That and others have told me that my memories are not lying. Elrond gave a small sigh before looking back to the picture in his mind.

He did not remember her well. She always seemed more interested in the Silmaril than her children. Elrond chose the way he took care of his children due to the way she had taken care of him and his brother.

Still, of every day in his life that one always stood out as traumatic. Even more so since he had been but a child. It must be some sort of curse. I seemed to be challenged with something before I ever should have been and before I even could understand.

He remembered Meadhros' reaction to the bird. The fit of anger he threw as if flew away, never to return. Perhaps they're right. It was my mother. Why though? Why would she have been saved? It seems unfair. Unfair or no, it had happened and no one knew why. No one knew what. No one knew how. Now he was left wonder about the answers that he seeked, they would be forever out of reach, or until he sailed.

That will be a while.

Elrond turned back to his work. Though she did not leave his mind no matter how much he wanted her to. She was burned into his thoughts. She will not leave me. Why she insists on doing this I do not know.

Elrond signed and got to his feet. He went from his chair to his balcony, looking down on the gardens below. She stood in a place like this, she stood like this looking down on the sea. He tried to imagine being there, being in that situation, but he couldn't.

He tried to understand that day, but he couldn't. He did not know, he did not understand, what happened that day. He did not understand what she did and why. He did not understand what he had seen. Something told him that even when he sailed, he still would not know what happened that day.

It would never be explained.
