30 Facts: Revisited

Holy crap, I wrote this five years ago??? I'm 20 now, y'all. Like I literally turned 20 yesterday April 10th. Great times having a birthday during the great covid19 quarantine of 2020.

Anyway, I was browsing through all my old shit and although I'm not nearly ready to publish anything (though I am working on a plethora of stories), I thought it was high time for an update. So I guess y'all can consider this a mini return from the years-long hiatus I've been on. Many things have changed, lovely readers.

(Just for clarification, old facts are italicized and current ones are written after in regular font.)

1) I have been a straight-A student my whole life. Yeah, psych, not anymore. I was, up until college, that is. I've gotten a couple A's in some of my studio art classes, but you know what they say, "C's get degrees!" If you haven't gone to college yet, you have no idea how true that is (especially in America).

2) My strongest fandoms are The Chronicles of Narnia and Hunter Hayes. (Narnian and Hayniac all the way!) Still two big ones. You can check out the majority on my profile, but Spider-Man is also another of my strongest now. Also, I know without a shadow of a doubt that Hunter is the Astronaut on The Masked Singer. I know that voice anywhere.

3) This is totally random (as many of these may be), but my favorite Bath & Body Works scent is Mad About You. Whelp, now it's Magic In The Air. A Thousand Wishes is a close second.

4) My favorite flavor is strawberry. Still is.

5) I am an extreme Grammar Nazi. Yeah, I guess so. I'm still writing, so I'd say this still applies. I'm not as much of a stickler about it as I used to be, though.

6) My biggest pet peeve is when people use the word 'tooken', especially because IT ISN'T A WORD. (It's either taken or took, choose one!) This definitely still applies. It's worse now though because I can't live on campus due to covid so I have to hear my dad say it on a regular basis.

7) I was introduced to Wattpad when my friend, Rachel (vintage-galaxies you should follow her), told me about fanfictions and I browsed Google for Jelsa fanfics. This is true. Not to mention Peter Pevensie fanfics. Although I do cringe now, looking back at my days obsessed with Jelsa (Jack Frost x Elsa, for those who don't know).

8) My favorite ice cream is mint chocolate chip. YES!!! Although to be honest, Hershey's Better Brownie Batter is the only ice cream that tops this for me. Luckily they sell it by the pint on campus.

9) I am really, really short, reaching a grand height of 4 feet, 11 inches. GUYS I FINALLY REACHED 5 FEET!!!!! Seriously, it took me until the summer before college. I went to a doctor's appointment and they measured me at 5 feet. My mom thought it was because I had my hair in a top knot, but I measured the same height again later that year. I have reached my life's goal!

10) My life motto is Hakuna Matata, or, 'Why should I worry?'. Still applicable, though I wouldn't quite say I really live by a motto anymore. Just trying to get through each day now. Especially now that I've realized I've got some serious anxiety issues and have started taking meds for it.

11) My other motto (not my life motto, mind you) is to blame everything on my friend, Joey, but it's mainly only for the purpose of annoying him. Yeah, I'm not really friends with him anymore. It's insane how friend groups change after high school. I'm only in contact with one of my best friends from high school now. Though my college friends do consist of a girl friend from high school, a guy friend from high school, his girlfriend, a friend from church, and a coworker. The friend from high school is my best friend, but she's in the air force so we can really only talk on the phone. She did visit in February though, so she was totally my date for Valentine's.

12) I'm just now getting into Christian music, though, as a Christian, I should have been into it a long time ago. Not my favorite genre, but I listen to it every now and then. Only one of my favorite bands is Christian.

13) My favorite Christian musician is Jeremy Camp. It's Skillet now, with for KING & COUNTRY close behind.

14) I have seen Lonestar, The Band Perry, Toby Mac, for KING & COUNTRY, Jeremy Camp, and Skillet in concert. Also Red. Three times. And Rascal Flatts, Alan Jackson, and Newsboys. Do comedian's shows count as concerts? If so, I've also seen John Crist twice.

15) This summer, I'm going to strive to see Hunter Hayes in concert. I didn't get to, unfortunately. My favorite singer for nine years and I still haven't seen him in concert.

16) I'm really into art, and my friends say I'm good at it, but I'm not sure I believe them. I'm literally going to college for photography now, and I nearly aced my drawing classes. Started as an art ed major and almost switched to illustration, too, before deciding on photography, so it's safe to say by now I'm a lot more confident in my art.

17) My favorite artist is Peter Max. Still is, though Claude Monet and Renee Magritte are close seconds.

18) My favorite movie is not, in fact, one of The Chronicles of Narnia. It is Titanic. No. Dear lord, no. Still not a bad movie, but oh my gosh just thinking about how this used to be my favorite makes me cringe. Gosh, I think my favorite now is probably Spider-Man: Homecoming.

19) My favorite color is pink. NO NO NO NO NO NO NO. I only thought this was my favorite because I considered myself a "girly-girl" and I believed my favorite color had to be pink because of that. My favorite color is and always has been blue. I even hated pink for a long time after I realized that, but now I'm starting to fall in love with it again. Blue is still my favorite, though. I'm also not a "girly-girl" anymore. I like Doc Martin's and Converse and superhero tees and oversized flannels and I barely wear makeup anymore. (I still love lipstick though.)

20) I have been to Walt Disney World Resort twice (once when I was six, another when I was eight) and have been on a Disney Cruise once (when I was twelve). I've been to Disney World twice since then. Once to the Magic Kingdom with my mom and two aunts who live down there, and again to all four parks with my parents.

21) I hope to return to Disney World before I graduate. I did! Both of my last two visits were done by the time I was 16!

22) I am a pluviophile and a bibliophile, as it says in my biography. A pluviophile is a lover of rain, and a bibliophile is a lover of books. Still love books, just don't get to read them as often now because of college. (I'm hoping this quarantine can change that, though.) I also realized that my love of rain might be linked to my depression. Yep, newsflash: a few months ago I was diagnosed with mild recurring Major Depressive Disorder. Fun shit. I take meds for that, too. They've helped a lot.

23) My favorite song is Rainy Season, by Hunter Hayes. (Please see media.) Still is, though I also like a lot of his other songs, as well as a number of Bastille, Fall Out Boy, and Imagine Dragons songs that I might consider favorites.

24) I've been playing piano for about a year, but I think I'm terrible at it. I actually ended up taking lessons during my last two years of high school! Though, to be honest, I haven't really played much since I graduated...

25) I'm trying to write my own songs, but I only have one good one. Yeah, no, fuck that. I sucked at that. I have gotten into writing free verse poetry though, thanks to the creative writing class I took my first year of college. I think they kinda suck, but one of my favorites is about Prometheus, Pandora, and Icarus. Another is inspired by Jack Kline from Supenatural.

26) I think that one of the best feelings in the world is when a song comes on the radio and everyone in the car is singing along. Preach, past me!

27) I cry my eyes out every time I watch Titanic. (Once I watched it with one of my friends and she laughed at me....) Eh, not so much anymore. Although I did do just that at the end of Inifinity War when Peter Parker died. And again when I watched it the second time. My friends laughed at me again, but different friends. Then we watched Endgame together and I cried again first when Nat died and then when Tony died. They apologized after that because they were crying with me.

28) I'm in my school's drama club. Uh, nope. Tbh, I stopped doing drama club after I finished my first year of high school. I had too much on my plate and it wasn't as interesting as art club or my school's audition-only choral group. Still love theater, though.

29) I love acting, as well as working in stage crew. Still applicable, just not as much as I used to.

30) I've always wanted to become a famous country singer, and someday, I will be. Eh, not country. Country music has kinda gone to shit imo compared to what I grew up with. Sure there are still a few artists and songs I like, but nowhere near what I used to. I think if I were still to become a musician I'd be alternative. A lot more options that way. Something like Imagine Dragons.

So that's an update on me, courtesy of boredom due to covid19.

I would like to reiterate though that I due have a number of works in progress, though I think I won't publish anything until I'm much farther along. Something about publishing chapter by chapter and not knowing where I was going with a story had a lot to do with why I lost interest in my Narnia fanfic series. That's why I want to make sure I know where I'm going with a story before I write it, and I want to have a number of chapters written in advance so I can at least have a semi regular schedule for posting them. I don't know, it's just something that's been on my mind a lot lately (and by lately, I mean the past few years).

Anyway, I'll let you lovelies go now. Keep reading, keep writing, and stay safe. I love y'all.

~Tiffani ❤
