June 14 -- What's my apocalypse vehicle of choice?

I mean, let's be fair, I think we all want the plane from Agents of SHIELD am I right? I guess since that's not real I should come up with a better answer. I think there are a couple of things to consider when it comes to vehicle choice. First, will you be able to maintain it? If someone breaks, can you fix it? If you need fuel will you be able to get it? Second, how much do you plan on carrying with you into the apocalypse? And third, how effective if the vehicle at avoiding zombies and maneuvering around obstacle?

If you're the type of person who would spend the apocalypse as a nomad, you might want to think about a vehicle large enough to be your home. Maybe an RV, a van, or even a car if you don't need a lot of space. Of course, you'd have to think about gas, and mechanical problems which might come up. The nice thing about the bigger vehicles is that you can actually carry another vehicle inside it. Say, a bike in the back of your van in case you run out of fuel during a daring escape, or a compact car towed behind your RV in case you forced to scavenge on the congested streets of an urban area.

If you're more of a colonizer, trying to set up a safe zone for people to settle down and survive together, then it might actually be easier to maintain your vehicle. You have a pool of talents to take advantage of, and storage space for fuel. You might want to think of having a variety of vehicles in this situation. Small and maneuverable ones, like motorcycles, for quick scouting missions and cars and trucks for longer scavenging missions--something with enough space to bring back supplies for everyone.

And, finally, if you're the chaotic, help the world burn sort of person you might want to think about something more ridiculous with some fire power. A tank, a helicopter, a fighter jet. Of course, they all need specialized training so there's that.

I guess that doesn't answer the question of which vehicle I'd choose, but it does shine a little light on my decision making process.
