H is for...only heaven knows...

It was never the same without Adrien Agreste around, and everyone in the accounting department knew that.

No one has ever dared enter his office after what happened and it had been locked ever since. Everyone agreed to let Plagg stay, the poor cat having nowhere else to go, all alone without his owner. Max and Kim took care of him instead, feeding him whenever he starts rubbing himself on either of their legs.

It's been three weeks since Adrien was gone, Marinette may have been physically back after two weeks of sick leave, but mentally and emotionally, she was never there.

Alya and the rest gave her silent treatment, not really knowing what to say. After what happened on first day Marinette arrived, everyone decided to leave her be until she starts opening up again...which will definitely take time.

One her first day, Mylene suggested that Marinette should take her ring off since it was no use and Adrien was gone, Marinette's loud outburst, yelling 'NO' to Mylene's face startled everyone in the office, so they ended up with such decision.

Felix and Alya exchanged glances when Felix went to the office only to retrieve some papers from Alix, Alya just shook her head, and Felix's eyes landed on Marinette's desk, the only thing he can see was her blue hair peaking out from the cubicle block. Felix sighed before slowly approaching her. "Hey, Marinette."

He noticed that Marinette stiffened, not that he blames her, he's his brother's walking mirror, there might be a slight difference between their voice but if one does not know them well, they wouldn't notice. "Hey." Marinette replied, not removing her focus on the computer.

"I uhh..." Felix picked something up from his pocket and when he got it, he slowly placed the keys to Adrien's office on Marinette's desk. "If you need it...anyway."

Marinette eyed the keys for a while, before finally looking at Felix. "I...thank you, Felix."

Felix smiled sadly at her before exiting the office, he didn't want to stay too long...not that he had a reason to.

"Marinette?" Alya asked softly as Marinette slowly picked the keys up.

Marinette smiled for the first time...although it wasn't because she was happy, the tiredness in her eyes were visible, symbol days upon days of crying. "I'm fine, Alya." She stood up and walked over to Mylene's desk, the latter looking at her with wide eyes...

The was she looks when she gets intimidated by Adrien.

"Mylene..." Marinette started. "I'm really sorry if I yelled at your weeks ago...what happened doesn't excuse my actions."

Mylene's former expression turned into a sad yet reassuring smile. "Hey, don't sweat it, Marinette. I understand...also, I'm sorry if I said that you should get rid of your ring, it means a lot to you..."

Marinette eyed the ring, still on her finger. It was supposed to be a symbol of a promise...

And yet it was broken.

Mylene and Marinette smiled at each other and the coversation just ended there. Marinette excused herself and walked to Adrien's office. Everyone paised their work and watched, Alya stood up slowly, ready to run to her best friend in case she breaks down.

Marinette unlocked the door and slowly entered the office, the strong air freshener scent met her nose, and she figured it needed to be replaced, she turned the lights and the AC on. She roamed around, before sitting down on Adrien's swivel chair. She saw a picture on his desk and picked it up.

It was him and her...together.

She carressed the picture with her fingers. "I miss you." She whispers.

"Marinette?" Ivan calls out from outside and Marinette's head shot up. "Big boss wants to see you."

Suddenly, her chest tightened, realizing that it's Big Boss. Not Cold-hearted boss. She stood up and went to Gabriel Agreste's office.

Two years later...

Marinette refused Gabriel's offer of replacing Adrien of his position, but he had a second option two, Marinette finally became a fashion designer, with her friends and family supporting her, she finally had orflganized a fashion show of her own. Gabriel was pleased with her designs, nodding his head in approval at the models on the runway. Marinette however, despite her success, was still empty.

Her dreams might have come true, but then becoming a fashion designer was just her second dream...

Her first dream was having a family...with Adrien.

But then her friends dragged her into a party to make her loosen up a little, it was Juleka's birthday and the party was wild.

Marinette decided to loosen up that night, drinking and dancing with her friends. "Hey!" Marinette yelled and nudged Alya on the elbow. "It's been a long time since I had fun!"

Alya laughed. "Yeah, girl! I noticed!"

They formed a circle afterwards, Marinette, Alya, Mylene, Ivan, Kim, Max, Alix, Nathaniel, Juleka and her brother Luka. They were chatting and laughing, taking shots until everyone was eventually wasted.

And things got intense from there.

Marinette woke up the next morning with a headache, and realized she was in someone's room, she gasped when she realized she was naked, pulling the sheets up to cover herself.

Next to her, someone shuffled and got up as well and Marinette's eyes widened, in front of her was none other than Luka.

"Oh." Was all she said.

Luka and Marinette eventually got married after a year, and even though Luka was in love with Marinette, he knew somehow, he could never replace Adrien in Marinette's heart, so what he did was simply just being there for her, being there when he was needed. Marinette did said she loves him, but there was just something lacking there.

He knew what it was.

The words were supposed to be for Adrien, not him.

Marinette then found out that she was pregnant, but at the same time, it was risky. She didn't know why it went that way, but she and her child were both at risk and she had to be careful.

Luka took care of her, giving her everything she needs, with the help of Tom and Sabine.

"Mom, I'll be fine." Marinette said softly while putting the tray of croissants on the table. "I don't want to sit around all day doing nothing."

Sabine sighed before smiling. "Okay, Marinette. Just...don't overwork yourself."

"I won't mom." She smiled in return.

Marinette knew the risk of her pregnancy, but she didn't think twice of choosing her child over herself. Luka and the others protested, but Marinette just stood up the couch and was about to go her room but then she stopped at the tracks, touching her womb. "Mom." She said and Sabine immediately stood up.

"Honey, what's wrong?" Sabine asked and Marinette felt the liquid dripping on her legs.

Marinette gasped. "M-my water broke."

Everyone was suddenly alert and Marinette suddenly felt a contraction inside her, she closed her eyes, the pain inside her was sharp that she groaned. She felt Tom and Luka's arms around her as he was being guided to the car.

"Okay, honey, just breathe." Sabine said and sat beside her. "Just breathe, all right?"

She didn't even noticed how Luka drove the car so fast that they were already at the hospital in what Marinette assumed was just ten minutes.

She felt another contraction when the nurses gathered around her, lying her to the bed. They were saying something, but somehow she can't understand what it was, though she didn't miss the way to doctor looked at one nurse worriedly, and she knew what it was.

"Whatever happens." She managed to say, gripping the doctor's wrist. "My child must live, do you understand me?"

The doctor glanced at her. "But...you?"

She tightened her grip. "Do you understand me?"

The doctor sighed. "Yes."

"Doc," A nurse interrupted. "It's time."

The doctor nodded and turned to Marinette. "I'm going to need you to do a push, all right?" Marinette nodded but didn't say anything, she closed her eyes tightly, she groaned and did a push. "All right, keep going."

Marinette knew there was something wrong, the pain was too much for her to handle, but she kept going. She opened her eyes to glance at the doctor, by the looks of it, she knew she wasn't gonna last long.

Suddenly, her life flashed before her eyes.

She read something back then, an article...

Seven seconds.

Before you die, for seven seconds, your whole life will flash before your eyes, and Marinette did.

She saw her parents with her, way back when she was four baking cookies with them, she saw her life when she was still at school, how she dreamed of becoming a fashion designer, Alya, her best friend being ever supportive of her dreams.

She saw Adrien...

Adrien...

"Hey." Adrien whispered softly.

"W...what?"

"It's time, my love." Adrien smiled warmly. "You shouldn't be in pain anymore."

"But-"

"Shh." Adrien caressed her hair. "Time to go."

She nodded, and suddenly everything was white.

Five years later...

[Felix's POV]

"Adrien!" I called out, watching my son running away as Chloe and I grabbed our things from the car. "Son, be careful!"

Chloe shook her head and watched him fondly. "There was a time you are just like that."

"Shut up." I grumbled, carrying our stuff as Jean closed the trunk, I looked around, noticing that something was missing. "Hey have you seen our umbrella?"

"No, I think Adrien has it." Chloe replied, walking away.

"What? You let our son carry an umbrella?"

She looked back at me confusingly. "Felix, it's just an umbrella, plus your son is 7 it's not like he's going to poke someone's eyes with it."

I sighed as we continued walking, though we took precautions in case we accidentally step on someone's grave. As much as we don't believe in ghosts, it's still quite disrespectful. Finally, we spotted the Cheng family setting up their own tables.

"Hello." I heard my son said to a young girl, looking at...oh wait, that's...

Marinette.

The girl looked at him, her blue eyes resembling her mother's.

"Felix, Chloe!" Luka beamed. "I'm so glad you could make it!"

I chuckled and turned my attention to him. "Hey, I wouldn't miss Marinette's birthday now."

"Yeah." Chloe followed before helping Mrs. Cheng prepare the food.

"Marinette, right?" I paused when I heard my son asked her.

"I have the same name as my mother." She replied and smiled. "And you are?"

"Adrien." He replied. "I have the same name as my uncle...he's dad's twin."

"Where is he?" Marinette asked.

My son shrugged. "He's at the same place as your mom."

"Oh." She said and turned around again to look at her mother's grave. "My mom died when I was born."

Adrien opened the umbrella he was carrying and sat beside her. "My uncle died when I was born too."

Luka was beside me again, looking at the children. "You okay?" He asked.

I blinked. "Yeah, yeah...it's just...my son's name is Adrien, and your daughter's name is Marinette."

"Mm-hm."

I shook my head and scoffed. "You know, I thought that Marinette and Adrien's love story ended in a tragedy, but...looking at our children, I don't think it did...you know what I mean?"

Luka smiled. "I believe nothing really ends, Felix. Their love was strong, and the world might not have agreed...I believe they still found a way to be together."

I nodded, before the women called us for lunch. Marinette and Adrien were still sitting behind the umbrella.

I thought about what Luka have said, I ended up staring at the blue, sunny sky. The wind blowing softly at the trees.

Marinette Dupain-Cheng and Adrien Agreste may have both been gone.

But there was Marinette Couffaine and Adrien Agreste II.

It's either the they are the same people, who got a new chance to continue their story, or two different people, who got a chance of starting one.

Only heaven knows which is which.
