A burning ball of light

There are millions of me why am I significant
I'm not brighter than the sun
Not brighter than the moon
You probably don't see me often
Only in the night hours
But never when cloudy
Or on a moonless night
I sit
With my trillions of burning brothers and sisters
Unable to burn out
I've seen some grown into meteorites
And invade other galaxies
But I stay here
With my doppelgangers
Making your clear nights beautiful
