Shōnen-ai and Shōjo-ai refer to a boy x boy pairing and girl x girl pairing, respectively. Yaoi and yuri refer to the more...explicit versions of these two.

Personally, I don't really prefer these types of animes. I don't care how sexy a man is or how big a girl's boobs are. I honestly don't watch anime to ship people. I watch it for the story and the ship's sometimes develop (It took me a year to start shipping people from Attack on Titan and I still don't ship anyone from Tokyo Ghoul (I watched it about a 18 months ago)).

However, I have watched Yuri!!! on Ice (yaoi), and I've seen the first episode of Food Wars!, which I'd consider yuri, though it may not be.

I have nothing against Shōnen or Shōjo, and I will watch it. It's just not my cup of tea... or beer.
