"Hey, Neeks," Will said, his voice resonating through the cabin. He sat on the edge of the bed, where Nico had once slept. "I miss you."

Will sighed and got up, in attempt to stop the memories flooding in, of him and Nico cuddling together on that very bed. Leaning against the wall, he started to speak again.

"Every day, I wonder. Why did you have to leave me? What did I ever do to the gods to deserve this? What did I do? What did I ever do?"

He took a deep breath before continuing.

"I'm so sorry about all those times I wasn't fair to you. I'm sorry about all those times I hurt you. I'm sorry. I'm so, so sorry. But you'll never know that."

Will shut his eyes and slid to the floor.

"And Nico, my Death Boy. The Ghost King. My sunshine. I love you."

Will's voice cracked, and he opened his eyes, and let all the tears he had been holding back for so long go.

"Sometimes I see you next to me, but you're not really there. It happens, they all say, when you lose a loved one. You think they're right there, but they really aren't.

"I wish we could be together right now. I did your burial rites, you know? The proper way. The way you taught me to."

He swallowed, and a tear hit the ground.

"Remember when we would make plans to open up an infirmary together? I'm opening up an infirmary soon. And- and I won't have you to run it with me, an--"

Will wiped his eyes with the back of his hand.

"Nico di Angelo, m-my love. You'll always be in my heart. Every time there's a camper that needs healing, I'll heal them, thinking about you the whole time. And I'll make sure no one at camp feels unheard and lonely, the way you once did. I'll make sure of it, Nico. For you. Anything for you."

Will headed out of the cabin. Before closing the door, he turned back to it. "I loved you, I love you, and I will always love you, Nico di Angelo, forever and always."
