here comes the groom

Two demigods, both males and in their twenties, by the looks of them, were in wedding clothes, smiling at each other, while a centaur took place as the pastor. "Do you, William Solace, take Nico di Angelo to be your husband?"
"Yes," he breathed, looking straight into the other boy's eyes, a loving gaze reflected on his face. "I do."
"And do you, Nico di Angelo" --Nico took in a sharp breath-- "take William Solace to be your husband?"
He swallowed.
"I, I--"
Will grinned at his significant other. (significant annoyance, in your case) Nico looked into his face, which was so full of hope.
"You are so going down, Di Angelo."
"Yeah right, Solace. You wish."
They were dueling off, their swords clanging against each other's, creating an impenetrable racket. It had been a few days since Nico was released from the infirmary, and he was already back to swordfighting.
"You know you're desperately in love with me." I do, thought Nico.
"Please. Someday you're going to be the one begging to marry me."
"But would you say yes?"
Nico wasn't sure how to answer that. He decided to do what he did best: avoid the question. "I don't know, William. What would I say?"
"You wouldn't be able to resist me."
"Keep telling yourself that."
"Don't worry. That's exactly what I plan to do."
"I-- I can't."
Nico ran until he got to his cabin, where he sat and ran his hands through his hair. Bianca had left him. His mother had died. Hades was never there for him. All he knew to do was run away. Push away everyone else who tried to come close. Escape his problems, rather than face them. He wouldn't let others consider him a part of one camp or the other, at one point. Styx, he wouldn't even let Will call themselves boyfriends, despite how very obvious it was.
He wasn't ready for this. But what would he tell Will?
——
Will knew he shouldn't have pushed Nico into going through with all this. The son of Hades was hesitant in accepting Will's proposal, and even after, he still had so many doubts. "What if I'm a bad husband?" "Are we really ready for this?" "Maybe we should wait..." And Nico didn't want very many people to attend, but Will fought back and convinced him otherwise. Will started to run after Nico, but Jason held him back. "Don't. I'll go check on him."
——
"Go away, Will," Nico called out.
"It's not him. It's Jason." The son of Zeus quietly opened and closed the door to the cabin, stepping into the room. "Are you doing okay?"
"I didn't mean— I need— I can't—" Nico choked, tears starting to pour down his face.
"Hey, it's okay, Nico. It's going to be alright," Jason whispered gently, opening his arms to the other boy. Nico staggered into them and started to weep on Jason's shoulder. Jason hugged him tightly and continued to reassure the other boy. "Will loves you and you love him. Nothing is going to change because of this. He'll understand. He will. I promise you he will."
"He probably hates me now," Nico muttered.
"I don't know Will that well. But the one thing I know for certain about him is that you're his everything. He loves you like he loves nothing else. He loved you when you pushed everyone away. He loved you when your walls wouldn't let him in. He never stopped loving you through all your breakups and fights. Hades, he even continued loving you through that pastel phase you went through." Nico cracked a smile in remembrance. "What I'm trying to say is... he won't hate you because of this."
"Jason," Nico started. "Can I ask you something?"
"Of course."
"What happened beteeen you and Piper?"
Jason smiled grimly. "We just— we didn't work out. While staying at her father's, that year after the war, we got into a fight over something, and even after we got back together, I guess neither of us were really over it."
"Have I ever told you I love you, Jason?"
"Never. You used to not like to show caring for others remember?"
"Well I still don't. But I do love you. I've just never said it."
"I love you too, Nico. And so does Will. And everybody else here." After a long silence, Jason left the room, saying "I'm going to get Will. Just stay here and talk to him."
——
The second Will entered the room and saw Nico, he burst into tears.
"I'm so sorry, Nico. I never— I shouldn't have pushed you and made you and I'm so sorry."
"You didn't do anything wrong, Will. I shouldn't have said yes and gotten your hopes up. I just... I'm not ready for this. And if you don't want me to be your boyfriend anymore, I'll understand."
"You're not getting rid of me that easily, Death Boy. Besides, who else will I play Mythomagic with?"
"You dork," Nico said, punching Will's arm playfully, a grin on his face.
