Splash, Crash, Talk
Around them the rusted out plane rattled and shook as it rolled through the junkyard. Lilly did her best to follow the maze-like paths so the wings wouldn't clip the piles of junk anymore than necessary. The twists and turns, however, made it difficult for the blond killer to pick up speed. She needed to get the plane out of the junkyard, or else they wouldn't gain enough speed in time to not be swallowed up by the nothing. So both she and Toby were looking for the edge of the junkyard to break free of.
"Lilly, t-to the l-left!" Toby shouted, pointing to a gap between scrap piles. Between the two piles a chain link fence could be seen.
"We gotta take it." She responded, making the plane take a rather sharp turn. She pressed the gas, making the plane pick up speed, hoping it would be enough to ram through. "I know, Lil, but we're going to have to take some damage."
Right as she said that the wings hit the piles of junk with loud bangs. A loud screeching sound could be heard from the right wing. It was the kind of screech that made your teeth rattle and your ears ring. It only lasted a couple of seconds before it stopped and the plan hit the fence. There was the sound of metal hitting metal, then tearing, followed by the plane bouncing on its wheels a bit.
Now out of the junkyard area they had a short distance between them and the tree line to pick up speed. Lilly pressed the pedal down as far as it could go. The plane quickly picked up speed, allowing it to gain air for a moment before dropping back down again. The plane hopped a few more times as the tree line grew closer, but she couldn't turn the plane to gain more room. The micro realm was quickly falling apart behind them. The very edge of the nothingness nipped at the heels of the plane.
"Hey, Taby, how much are we going to need our landing gear?" Lilly asked as the trees fast approached.
"N-not badly e-enou-gh!" He responded as he gripped onto the pilot's seat. His knuckles turned white from the strength of his grip.
"Good." She replied with a faint sigh of relief. Not caring about the landing gear buys them a few more precious seconds of speed build up time. Those few more seconds provided just enough time to reach take off speed. "Hang on!" Lilly shouted to her friend as she pulled the plane into the air.
It wasn't enough of a warning for the twitching pasta. As the plane shot into the air, Toby fell back against the wall with an audible thud. From beneath them they could feel the rusted landing gear being torn from the plane by the trees. Both Toby and Lilly hoped that they wouldn't need to stop, for they could never get the plane back up again. Lilly quickly straightened the plane back out before correcting the plane north ward.
She leaned back in her chair and let out a deep breath. "Well that sucked. But it did give me an idea for my next game."
"Is th-that confirmation th-there will b-be a n-next game?" Toby asked as he stood back up.
"Should be. We're ahead of the destruction and should be reaching the edge of the micro realm soon." She said as she looked over the dynamiters. "It's another question entirely if we'll have enough gas to get to the portal. Or if the wings will hold out. What with being damaged and all from the scrap pills."
"W-what does th-that mean?" Toby inquired.
"It means go tell the others to get ready for a possible crash landing." She chuckled as she looked back at him. Toby hadn't realized it before, but she had a black eye from the fight.
"Will do. Holler if you need anything." Toby said as he walked out the cockpit. He pulled a labeled map off the wall as he walked out, examining it.
*Or I can always do this.* Lilly's voice came out of the speakers, catching the attention of everyone on the plane. *Goooooooood evening ladies, gentleman, animals, and Jeff, this is your captain speaking. If you look to the front of the plane you'll see our lovely Stewardess; Taby, aka Toby.*
They turned to look forward at the twitching she-male. The pastas from House Fairuza all gave her expectant looks. Slendermans pastas, however, were still confused about their twitching Housemate. Toby ignored their curious and uncertain stairs, expecting it to a degree. He knew that they knew that he is still himself and it's just going to take some time for them to get used too. It's not like he was going anywhere, so they could suck it up.
*Be sure to carefully listen to her while he explains all safety instructions. Please, remain seated in your seats unless told otherwise. And thank you for choosing Air Game Master. We know you had no choice of airlines and thank you for flying with us.* With that the audio cut out. Everyone stared at the speakers, some with mild concern for who they had as the pilot.
"O-okay, listen u-u-up everyone." Toby said, gaining the attention of everyone in the cabin. "F-f-for safety instructions, p-please stay in your seats th-the entire time w-we are in the air. During th-th-the event of the crash w-wait to unbuckle until the p-p-plane has stopped crashing un-less told otherwise."
"So the plane is going to crash." Warning Call stated more than asked, looking at the young proxy. Her eyes were steady, already planning around the crash.
"W-we th-think so. At th-the very l-least i-it won't b-be an easy la-landing." Toby nodded his head as she walked down the aisle. He walked over to a hatch in the ground, rusted out around the edges. "Lilly is p-pret-ty sure of it. Th-the w-wings are torn a-and we are unsure of h-h-how much gas th-there is."
"Can't you look at the fuel gauge?" Jeff asked, crossing his arms. It seemed that the risk of crashing wasn't phasing him one bit.
"B-b-busted." Toby replied as he pried the hatchet open. It took a lot of effort, but finally it gave a piercing shriek of metal rubbing against metal.
"Can't we land just outside of the mirco realm?" Masky questioned, hand gesturing in the direction they were heading.
"We h-had to s-s-sacrifice the landing gear t-to get en-ough s-s-speed." Toby pulled a large wooden crate out from the hatchet hole. Bracing himself, he busted open the top with his elbow. "No matter wh-what, it's not g-g-going to be a s-smooth landing. S-so p-please listen to all in-instructions."
"Alright, what do we need to do?" Masky asked, giving his support to his fellow proxy.
"Are we seriously going to listen to Toby? And put our lives in his hands?" Jeff snorted, eyebrows furrowing.
"You will if you want to live." Warning Call told him, voice hard as she narrowed her eyes at him. As battered as she was, the power of a Lord still radiated from her frame. "We trust her."
"Th-thank you." Toby nodded his head at the Lady. "Wh-what we do depends o-on where we c-crash. If-f it's on land th-th-then I need everyone to s-st-stay seated. Keep the l-little ones st-strapped down, p-p-protect your heads and necks. If we hit trees, b-b-be p-prepared to unstrap and jump. If w-we hit water, stay seated until I say so or th-the cabin floods. In th-th-this crate are two instant b-blow up rafts. I will t-try to give th-them to th-the Lords, but if I c-can't then whoever gets to them deploy them outside of the p-plane.
"Do your best to help those around you. K-keep those who can't swim in the center of th-the boats. Do your best to s-stay calm. If the two groups get separated, get to l-land following th-the coast north as far as you can go b-before leaving the shore or heading in a d-different direction. If we are on the w-water, head north as well. If on land try to find the p-plane crash. If you can't, go north." Toby finished instructing the Creepy Pastas.
All while he was giving safety instructions the plane rattled more and more. A few times it nearly knocked him off balance. One of the wings was making a whirring sound as smoke started to trickle out of it. It was quickly becoming clear the plane was slowly unstabilizing. As he finished up a loud screech of metal tearing could be heard.
Toby ran to the side of the plane he heard the sound from. He looked out a crack through the window at the wing. From what he could see a chunk of the underside was missing, making the plane wobble from the unequal air drag currents. It seemed it was taking all Lilly had to keep them straight and in the air. He could also see a wide, black river that is surrounded by a thick forest coming up. The trees are far too thick to land through.
*Hey, Tabs. We're going down. We're about 300 feet from the river. You have 30 seconds.* Lilly's voice warned them over the speaker. As she said that the plane started bouncing.
Toby rushed to the blow up rafts. Grabbing both, he first ran to Warning Call as she was closer. With the shaking of the plane he stumbled all the way to her. He handed it to her quickly, turning to head to Slenderman. The plane was getting worse, making him stumble and fall to the ground. He tried to get back up only to be knocked down again. The raft rolled out of his hands as he hit the ground a second time. This time he didn't have a chance to get back up.
*CRASHING!* Lilly shouted just before the plane hit the water.
The sudden stop from the plane had sent Toby flying forward. He slammed into the front of the plane, stunning him. All around them the plane fell apart, ripped piece by piece from the force of the crash. Water flooded the cabin, forcing the Creepypastas to move. Both Masky and Hoodie rushed to their stunned fellow proxy. Carefully they guided him up and moved him through the on coming water of the quickly sinking plane.
They ducked through a busted open crack in the plane. They had to dive through the cold black water and swim to the surface, using only the pull of gravity to figure out which way was up. Both elder proxies helped pull Toby, who had just enough sense to hold his breath, to the surface. Once their heads were above water level they swam for the closer one of the two rafts. Those who were already in helped pull the three into the boat.
"Close call, huh, Taby?" Titanium snorted as she pulled her friend into the raft. "Saw you hit the wall. Glad that your friends reached you in time."
"Y-you and me b-both." Toby choked out as he coughed up some of the black water. He gave a smile to his two fellow proxies. "Th-thanks guys."
"No problem." Masky said as flopped down on one side of the raft. "Is everyone here?"
They looked all around them at the Creepypastas floating in the water or sitting in the boats. Most had already made it into the boats, save for Slenderman and his brothers as they were far too big. Warning Call had broken the surface just as he started looking, BEN clinging to her with a vice like grip. She swam to the other boat to hand the green clad pasta over. As she, too, was very big she would have to stay in the water. The Creepypastas themselves helped pull each other into the boats, both Houses helping each.
The number of pastas divided in each boat was a pretty even split. In Toby's boat was him, Masky, Hoodie, Titanium Ghost, Black Gold Demon, Jane, Jeff, Sally, and EJ. The other boat had LJ, Lazari, Heart Breaker, Cross Hair, Target Locked, Dr. Painkiller, Clockwork, Ben, Grinny, Smiles, and Candy Pop. The big cats swam next to their master's boat. The two Lords and Slenderman's brothers were in the river, getting ready to pull it to the northern bank. It was while Toby was doing the head count that he realized someone was missing.
"H-Hey!" He shouted in a panic over the chatter, getting everyone's attention. Dread started filling his chest like a heavy weight. "Where's L-Lilly? Did anyone s-see her c-come up?"
"Is she still down there!?!" Candy Pop shouted, her accent getting thicker in her fear for her friend.
"For the ov of-" Warning Call started as she swam to where the plane was quickly sinking.
However, Slenderman beat her there, diving under the waters. She waited above the surface, trying to see into the nearly pitch black waters. From the boats the others watched as they were pulled to the shore. Both Hoodie and Masky had to hold their fellow proxy back from jumping back into the waters. It wouldn't do any good for him to have jumped back in anyways.
Time seemed to stretch on forever for them while they waited for Slenderman to break the surface of the river. He reappeared just two feet from where Warning Call waited for the return of her pasta. She came up coughing and hacking, but her tell tail grin was still plastered across her face. Her large battle ax firmly in her grip. It was what was probably weighing her down, her refusal to let it go in favor of her life. Still, she let her Lord take it from her to lessen the weight on Slenderman. The three of them reached the shore roughly five minutes after the rest of the two Houses.
Both Candy Pop and Toby rushed to hug their friend the second the large entity put her down. The rest of her house crowded around in a semi circle to check her over. It was a quick reunion, one that turned more giddy than dreadful fast. Once everyone, mainly Painkiller, checked that she was alright did Toby pull back out of the group.
"You look like a wet rat." Lilly stated, gesturing to his ruined makeup and soaking wet clothes.
"I-I feel like o-one." He replied, humor in his voice.
"Still cute though." She slapped his shoulder playfully.
"Now d-do we have ev-veryone?" Toby asked, looking around once again. "Anyone l-left in th-the water?"
"No, I believe we have everyone this time." The exhausted voice of Warning Call confirmed.
"We made it. I can't believe we made it out alive." Heart Breaker said as she bent over to rest against her legs.
"Alive being relative." Titanium said with a small smile.
"Come, it's getting dark." Slenderman said, herding the Creepypastas. "We need to find somewhere to make camp for the night."
Truthfully he would have preferred to walk through the night to get to where they needed to go, but it was clear everyone needed to rest. They were all battered, bruised, and bleeding. The other Lord, Warning Call, seemed about to collapse from exhaustion. They were all wet, cold, tired, and in pain from some sort of wound. It would be best to wait for dawn to walk. A good call as with how thick the forest surrounding the was it blocked out most light.
They traveled maybe thirty yards into the forest before finding a clearing. It was small, but would work for the night. Quickly, the least injured pastas, mostly the Slender brothers, gathered enough wood for a fire for the night. Cotton Candy helped move several logs over for chairs while Candy Pop sent about tending to Lollipops wound.
Both EJ and Dr. Painkiller tended to as many injuries as they could with the medkit Painkiller brought. While they couldn't bandage every scratch and cut, they did get the majority of it. They were even able to patch up some wounds from before the fight. The rest could wait until they got back. With the wrap up of bandaging came a tired lull. It was then did the two Houses actually seem to really look at each other.
"Not to seem ungrateful or anything, but who the fuck are you guys." Jeff asked after a long moment of silence. His hoodie was removed, drying by the fire, leaving him in his black shirt. Next to him he had his arm around BEN, who in turn leaned against his boyfriend.
"I am Amira Fallon Fairuza, Warning Call, Lady of House Fairuza." Warning Call introduced herself. While normally dressed prim and proper, she looked anything but at this moment. Her makeup was smeared and runny. Her jet black hair that normally was tucked in a neat bun now hung from said bun in a knotted looking ball. Her clothes were torn, black suit jacket laid across her lap in a shredded mess. "These are eight of my Pastas. Candy Pop, Game Master, Heart Breaker, Dr. Painkiller, Cross Hair, Target Locked, Titanium Ghost, and Black Gold Demon."
She pointed to each pasta as she said their names. Each one looked as messed up as she did. Not a single one looked ready for the public, save for Titanium and Black Gold as they were ghosts and Candy Pop whose own clothes were torn, but her makeup was forever fresh. It wouldn't even smear if she tried wiping it off.
"It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Lady Amira." Slenderman said politely, the voice of politics coming over his voice. "Though I wish it were under better circumstances. I must ask, why did you rescue us?"
"Amira or Warning Call is fine." She told him, voice equally as polite. "As for the rescue, well, it was because your proxy Toby came to me, begging for help. I've known her for a while now, as have you, and I'm sure you find how hard it is to say no to him."
"You made enemies with a Power Lord, surely more went into your decision then that." Slenderman prompted, wishing to find every reason why. There was a clear undertone in the discussion, a second primary reason going unspoken.
"Indeed, there was more, but most of that had more to do with politics." Warning Call replied, voice slowly losing the politeness as her exhaustion started taking over more. "It would be best to discuss it after we all get home. After I have a chance to change into something more presentable."
"Yea, she took on Zalgo, Brother. And she lived. That's not something just anyone can do." Offendy reminded his brother.
"Ah, yes, pardon me." He replied, voice almost embarrassed.
"It is quite alright." She smiled before letting her head drop. She was hunched over, elbow on her knees. It was clear she was beyond tired. She moved her head up slightly, just enough to look at him through the corner of her eye. "I would like an introduction to your pastas, if you don't mind."
"Of course, though I do believe it would be more appropriate if Toby did the introductions." Slenderman agreed, turning to his youngest proxy expectantly.
"O-oh, yea." Toby nodded his head, standing up from where he sat in between Lilly and LJ. He, like Warning Call, introduced each of the pastas of his house one by one. He started with Laughing Jack, as he was right next to him, and ended with his fellow proxies. "And those two are Masky and Hoodie."
Lilly, who had been listening intently, perked up considerably upon hearing the last two names. Her lips, normally bright pink with messily drawn on lipstick but were now plain, pulled into a big, mischievous grin. Sapphire blue eyes lit up like the fire burning in front of them. "Oh! So these two are Masky and Hoodie! Did you hear that, CP? These are Masky and Hoodie."
"I did, Lilly." CP chuckled, also getting excited. She looked directly at the two proxies, who now seemed slightly uncomfortable. "Boy, is it nice to finally put a couple of masks to names, isn't it, my friend?"
"Indeed." Lilly nodded her head vigorously as she stood up. She quickly walked around the fire, placed her hands on her hips, and learned forward into the spaces of the two. "Taby has told us so much about you. It's almost like I've known the two of you for years!"
"Toby, talked about us?" Masky asked disbelievingly, sneaking a glance at the one in question. Toby, himself, looked somewhat mortified, twitching picking a bit. "I didn't think he, she?, would talk about us."
"Oh, yes, she does." Lilly seemed to grin even bigger, if that was somehow possible.
"O-of cour-rse I-I do! You're m-my c-coworkers!" Toby said with mock cheeriness, glaring at his friend. Lilly only giggled at her slightly younger friend. "I-I talk about o-our m-missions all th-th time."
"It's true. He does." Lilly said, head tilting to an almost comical degree to the left. "We hear all about it. Every single detail."
Behind her her fellow Housemates laughed and giggled, like they were all in on some joke. Toby's Housemates gave them odd looks as they were unsure about these other pastas. The Lords shared knowing looks, Slender's brothers joining in. Toby looked like he was about to die, face red with his blush. As for Masky and Hoodie, it was hard for one to gauge their reactions due to the masks they wore. They did not laugh, nor did they move a muscle, but they weren't tense.
Toby eventually got up and dragged his friend back by him, hissing under his breath at her. She only cracked up, causing the others to do the same. The hatchet wielding proxy sat down with a huff, face still tinged with pink. Lilly threw her arm around his shoulder, pulling him into a half hug.
They settled down after a few more minutes. The fire still burned bright, though it would need more wood soon. It was quiet for twenty minutes before someone spoke up to address the elephant in the room, so to speak. They brought up the subject Toby had been dreading, but he knew it would have to be addressed sooner or later.
"So, Toby." Masky started, glancing at Hoodie for support for a quick second. "Are you a girl? Or are you something else?"
"I'm, s-something else." Toby said, hesitating. This wasn't something that would be easy for him to talk about. He felt the presence of Lil enter his mind, calming down his tics. "I am a True Gonadal Intersex, or a hermaphradite. I'm roughly three fourths a girl specifically, but raised male. Most people born intersex are raised to be boys. I didn't even know until I had hit puberty and grew these." He said, referring to the two small breasts on his chest.
"How did we not know?" BEN asked him.
"I kept it hidden. I was afraid of ridicule. I'm messed up enough as it is, no need to show how much of a freak my body is. You guys can be a little harsh." He shrugged his shoulders, answering honestly. "I used KT tape to bind and my periods are whacked, so there wasn't a chance for you guys to notice a monthly pattern for me being completely psycho for a week."
"Shit, man." Jeff said a little uncomfortably. "I know we can be mean, me especially, but we didn't mean to make you feel like you had to hide what you were."
"We'd accept you no matter what you are. We accept Jeff." Hoodie joked, jerking a thumb in the direction of the pale killer. Said killer glared at the orange hooded man in response.
"Would you prefer if we start using female pronouns from now on? We can even call you by the name the other House used. Taby, was it?" Masky offered, trying to be supportive even if his voice came off kind of brash.
"You can if you want. He, she, Toby, or Taby." Toby smiled at the two of them. "But like I said earlier. I'm still the same person you've always known. I just have a little bit of a mix and match of parts."
"Alright." Masky replied, nodding his head.
"That's enough, children." Slenderman addressed the whole group. "It is time for sleep. We have much to do these next few days."
With that everyone found a spot to sleep. It wasn't particularly comfortable as they were on the ground. Still, everyone was able to settle down enough to eventually doze off to sleep. Well, those that could sleep. And if the two groups were a bit intermixed, well, nobody commented on that. And if Slendermans three proxies seemed to sleep closer together than usual, well, nobody commented on that either.
