Chapter 10

After what happened last night, mabuti't hindi ako nabuking ni Krisa. I was about to tell her what happened then, but I preferred not to tell her anything.

When I saw the couple last night, mabuti na lang ay hindi na namin ulit sila na-encounter so that was a little relief for me. Krisa and I were able to enjoy the night market last night, though I was a little disappointed that Caleb kept bailing on me and I'm not sure if I should continue entertaining his messages since it's like he's not interested at all and was just after conversing with me.

Earlier, before I left my apartment, I leave a message to Caleb that if he wouldn't meet me today at the campus, I would stop replying to his messages anymore. That I would ignore him. I basically would just forget about all of him and dumped all the things he put on my locker before.

Nang pumasok ako, it's like a normal day for me. Hopefully, I wouldn't bound to meet this couple again. I hate seeing them together. Baka mamaya, hindi ko sigurado, may iniisip na silang masamang balak sa akin.

"Mukhang babalik ulit ako mamaya sa boulevard," kwento ni Krisa sa akin.

Nilingon ko siya at tinaasan ko ng kilay. "Sinong kasama mo?"

Napahagikgik naman ito bago niya ako sagutin. "Natandaan mo si Marky no'ng na-meet ko no'ng birthday ni Chase no'ng nakaraang gabi?"

"Oh, so?"

She giggled. "Well, niyaya niya lang naman ako kanina. Nakasalubong ko kasi siya no'ng bago tayo magkita kanina. Gusto niya lang akong makasama. Wala namang big deal do'n, 'di ba?"

Bahagya naman akong natawa sa kanya. "Sus! Anong walang big deal? Alam ko namang bet na bet mo 'yon. Ilang beses mong kinu-kwento 'yon sa akin. E, 'di, go ka lang! Hindi naman kita pipigilan, e. 'Wag ka lang lalapit sa akin tapos iiyak ka kasi nasaktan ka. Girl, you should've know it beforehand flirting with him."

Napakibit balikat naman si Krisa. "But let's see... I think he's genuine naman with his intentions, e."

"E, ikaw bahala," komento ko.

We went to our class and the usual, we listened to the discussion and after that, a quiz was taken. Good thing, I still got a passing score while Krisa almost failed the quiz. I know she's doing good, I just don't know what was happening--or maybe because her attention being put into half when that Marky came in her life.

After class, before we head to the lunch, sinabihan ko si Krisa na mauna na siyang pumunta sa cafeteria so she could fall in line for us dahil mahaba na naman panigurado ang pila ro'n.

While she thought that I would be just getting a quick stop at the restroom, hindi niya alam na kikitain ko na si Caleb ngayon.

When I told Caleb we should meet today at noon, wala akong natanggap na reply sa akin pero umaasa pa rin ako na nabasa niya iyon at hindi siya magiging talkshit dahil kung hindi, this would be the last day we would ever talk again.

I texted him. Wala pa ring reply.

I called him. He's not accepting it either.

Hindi ko na alam kung anong gagawin ko sa kanya. If he wouldn't communicate then I don't know what will gonna happen then. It's just a matter of decision to drop it now or wait if he would show up. 

Nagtetext na rin naman sa akin si Krisa na malapit na siya sa counter, I just replied to her sandali na lang at siya na mismo bumili no'n para sa akin.

And for a moment I thought Caleb shows up, napairap na lang ako nang makita ko si Griffin na papunta sa direksyon ko. I just looked away and I tried to ignore him since he's not the person I wanted to meet up with.

Ayokong pag-aksayahan siya ng oras. But then he chose to mess with me.

Tinawag niya ang pangalan ko and yet I continued ignoring him since he's not the business I was here for now. Pero hinarap pa rin niya talaga ako. Halatang kulang sa pansin.

"What are you doing here?" he questioned.

I kept ignoring him like it's what he deserves at the moment.

"You know, you've got some confessing to do to me now."

I laughed when he mentioned that. "Ang kapal mo naman. Umalis ka na nga lang. May hinihintay ako at masyado kang papansin, okay?"

He smirked, shaking his head. "You told Chienna you told me that I will buy her the same sweatshirt you bought."

"Oh, what a loud mouth," I whispered.

"What did you say?"

Inirapan ko siya. "Wala ka na ro'n. Bahala ka na sa buhay mo kung paano mo gagawin 'yon. I'm out of your life and we shouldn't be talking either. If you're not gonna leave, sisigaw ako na binabastos mo ako rito."

He scrunched his face. "What the fuck? You're wild, Aneesa."

I smirked. "Wow naman! Naalala mo pa pala pangalan ko, ha?" Irap ko pa. Dahil mukhang hindi na rin naman darating pa ang taong hinihintay ko at ayoko nang makipagtalo sa lalaking ito, I decided to leave his side without even saying a word.

He even called me back, but I didn't look back at him.

Nagmadali na lang din naman akong naglakad hanggang sa nakarating na ako sa cafeteria at makita si Krisa na nasaktuhan ko naman na nasa counter na rin.

Agad niyang tinanong kung saan ako nanggaling at ang tagal-tagal ko. Sinabi ko nga lang na marami ring tao sa restroom kaya natagalan ako.

Before we could pick up our food, I left a message to Caleb.

"You didn't come so it means you're not interested so... this would be the last message you'll receive from me. Bye!"

And then I blocked his number.

Krisa and I picked up our meal and look for a table we could eat our food. Just a moment later, I saw Griffin entered the cafeteria with his girlfriend, but I ignored him.

At this moment, the only thing I care is about finishing college and nothing more. I don't wanna mess with anyone especially that guy who I hated now and his name is Griffin Paulson.
