Waking Up

Sabine didn't want to wake up but she did anyway.

"Hey I'm glad you are awake." Kanan told her and came over to where she was sitting in the shuttle.

"Hey Kanan." She said, glumly.

"You ok?" He asked her.

"Yeah I'm fine." She lied and got up and went over to the cockpit with Kanan.

"Where are we going?" She asked and sat down in the co-pilot's chair.

"Hoth." He answered and Sabine became confused.

"The rebellion base was on Yavin 4."

"I know they moved to Hoth because the Empire knew their location." He explained.

"I guess that make sense." She said and he sat down next to her in the pilot's seat. "I hope Hera's ok. Oh wait Hera will be overjoyed to see you."

"Yeah." He responded with not much enthusiasm.

"Are you nervous?" She asked him, picking up on his tone.

"Yeah, I just don't know."

"It'll be fine, just let Hera do all the talking." She said and laughed.

"I guess." He responded and they sat in silent as Sabine looked out the window.

A silent tear rolled down her cheek as she thought about what just happened and what was to come.

Ezra always keeps his promises.

She thought with hope, because that's all she had to live by.

He never forgets.

---

Tekara woke up from the surgery, something was lingering in his mind but he didn't know what it was.

"Where am I?" He asked, coldly and got up from the bed. "Why can't I see anything?"

"Thrawn made an order for us to not restore your sight." A female voice responded, and he felt something being put into his hands. "This is for your eyes if you want it."

He felt it with his hands it was mask, he put in the heavy weight over his head.

Something in his mind told him that this was his home.

The darkness.

The hate.

The suffering.

But something was lingering.

A spark of hope.

A promise yet to resurface from someone he loved.
