Part 14 : When You Feel the Guilt Within

When Satan tempts me to despair,
And tell me of the guilt within,
Upward I look and see Him there
Who made an end to all my sin.
Because the sinless Savior died,
My sinful soul is counted free;
For God, the Just, is satisfied
To look on Him and pardon me.

Do you ever feel the guilt? Do you ever had the feeling that you don't deserve to be called as a Christian. You regret so much because you have done something wrong. Something that fall short within the Lord's standard. You know that you have violated God's law. You know you're guilty and you feel bad about it. Do you ever felt it? Do you ever heard the voice in your head, a deceiving voice saying, 'Oh you've done wrong... you cannot go straight towards God, you need to do this first or do that... ', well, that's the voice of the deceiver - the devil. Do not believe it!

Trust in the grace of God. Christ had already paid your sins - past, present and future! You are already justified. You are already counted free! You are save by grace and not by works. So if you have this guilt about your sins, go straight to God. Feel free to confess it to your Father. Do not believe in the voice of the deceiver that will try to stray you away from His love and unending compassion.

I am not provoking you to sin. I am not saying that you can sin and then confess it later. But know this: true converted Christians, though not perfect and still susceptible to sin because of the sinful nature of man, are already alive to Christ and dead to sin. True Christians do not abuse the grace of God. True Christians, loves righteousness. True Christians loves light and turn away from darkness. True Christians put off the worldly desires and put on the love of God in their hearts. They will never abuse grace and there will be guilt when they violated God's law.

Why? Because as the word of God said, the Holy Spirit will lead us into the truth. He will lead us into the deepest truth that is only found in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit will convict us of sin, righteousness and judgment. He will lead us, and protect us from the evil one because He is the Helper that Christ our Lord had promised.

Note: Trust in His grace. Whenever you feel the conviction of sin, do not go astray... but run to Him. Run to Christ our Lord in prayer and repentance.

Personal reflection:

I consider this hymn as one of my favorites. Whenever I feel the guilt inside because of my sinful nature, it reminds that I had already been justified by faith through Christ, by His death, atonement and resurrection on the cross. Read it and put it in your mind and i'm sure you will be bless after reading it.

When Satan tempts me to despair,
And tell me of the guilt within,
Upward I look and see Him there
Who made an end to all my sin.
Because the sinless Savior died,
My sinful soul is counted free;
For God, the Just, is satisfied
To look on Him and pardon me.
