#TipTuesday -- 3 writing/life tips

1. Do not procrastinate. DO NOT procrastinate! I am very good at disobeying this one... and see where it got me. Three days behind.

2. Read good literature.

How did I get to be a good writer? By taking a bunch of English classes? I didn't even get an official grammar book until I was in sixth grade. After that, I read all the writing help I could get my hands on, and it was definitely useful for cementing everything in my head, but most of the basic principles were already there. How? Because since I was four, I was reading book after book of amazing literature.

3. Learn to laugh at your old writing. When you can do that, you can examine it for what makes it laughable. And when you know what makes it so ridiculous, you can avoid those mistakes even better, and help others with the same.

I have no real critique, these are all nice suggestions, and they thankfully don't claim to be the top three tips or the only way of life

I'll just say that some people don't like to laugh at their old writing and that's fine (they missing out though :D)

1. don't make generalizations, generalizations suck and are dangerous

2. whether it's writing advice, news articles, or what the heck you will, if you hear about two extremes, the best route is probably somewhere in the middle

3. you will come across people, motivational posts, and websites who tell you that curating the Pinterest board does not count and you should be writing. This will probably be true 50% of the time, but you will already know it. the other 50% of the time you will be needing to recharge creatively or spark your interest in the story again in order to start writing, but you will be tempted to believe them. Do not believe them.
