#MyStuffMonday -- stuff I've done on Wattpad

Okayyyy... what have I done?

-acquired over 100 followers in the eight months since I've joined. I don't know why!!! I used to scout out for new readers, but I don't even do that anymore, partly because I can't promise that I'll have time to read their stuff in return. I honestly wish that the ones that don't care about me would unfollow me, but when I politely PM them to that effect they're like, "Oh no, we would never do a mean thing like that!"

And I'm like, "I don't think you guys get it. I want you to unfollow me."

But of course I can't say that. I mean, they'd think I was nuts.

never have been a fan of follow-for-follow or mass-follow-spree or follow-bc-one-mutual-acquaintance or any of that jazz

still not a fan of it

-won @ Fantasy 's winter contest. Admittedly, there were sixteen other winners, but still... out of 90-some contestants, I don't feel too bad about it.

still shouldn't have put that in a query letter

-finished a book on Wattpad. So it's about 12,000 words. But still. Only once before have I ever finished a novel, and it took me three years. Thanks for the motivation that all my great readers gave me!

*gestures to multiple subsequent books finished on Wattpad while I continue singing in a throbbing Queen Elsa voice and confetti gently showers around*

*chokes on grandiloquence and trips over conveniently placed light switch*

-Met TONS of amazing people. And I wish I could remember you all now, but if you're reading this you're probably counted among them.

In 4.5 years I've got 408 followers and most of them are still most likely meaningless. If you actually are invested in me and/or read my stuff (whether silent or not) huge props to you, you're amazing. If not, unfollow me so you can prune your own following to those you care about and thereby become more amazing.

Authenticity. Over. Quantity.

I wrote a lot and posted it to Wattpad and then published a book and didn't post much here and lost most of my audience byeeeeee (it's less the old audience's fault and more that a lot of people grew up and got busy and I didn't have the energy or content to pull in a new audience)

I continued meeting amazing people and my best writer buddies are still Wattpad buddies. y'all ROCK.
