Zander quickly crawled under one of the tables dragging Jacob behind him. He scouted around before more people awoke for his friends but only saw Georgie lying on a table next to an old water fountain. He ran and woke her up, while he did this he noticed weapons on some of the tables. He grabbed a rifle, ax, spear, and knives. He was hoping he wouldn't have to use them.

Bruce Baxter raced over to the table of weapons and was forced back by a spear. Roger Phepps, Malachi Rose, and Joseph Nix stood by the door blocking the exit. Roger said "One down boys and girls. Who's next?" Zander looked at his friends with fear. Malachi and Joseph moved around the room looking for their next victim. Malachi grabbed Asia Forest and drug her to the front of the room by her hair. She threw her in front of Roger. Asia begged for them to let her go. Everyone knew they wouldn't He grabbed her head and twisted it breaking her neck. She fell to floor. Zander felt like crying, but he held it back. Roger stood in a chair and said "Anyone who wants to help us kill everyone else come with us. They walked out the door, and ten others followed, Zander and his friends included. They thought this was the only way to survive.

When they entered the hallway Roger pulled Daphne Monet, Peter Warrence, Luke Michaels, and Zander from the crowd and told each of them to kill one of the others in the group. Daphne raised her pistol to Oliver Drake and shot him in the head. Peter stabbed Yancy Nixon in the abdomen. Luke grabbed Georgie and tried to slice her throat, but Zander cut his arm with his knife. Georgie rushed back to Jacob. Luke touched his arm, and looked at Zander with anger. He ran to Zander in attack mode. Zander closed his eyes and held his knife out. When he opened them he saw Luke on the ground covered in blood. Zander looked at his friends. Roger and the others then began a warrior cry. Zander dropped his knife and walked slowly to his friends. They wrapped their arms around him to try and comfort him, but Zander knew he would never be the same.
