Chapter 11: Homecoming

After about 19 more shots heard, Sierra blacked out.

She could her sobbing in the background and could feel people touching her arms. "Wake up. Sierra its me, your father." He kept repeating himself and Sierra struggled to open her eyes. Once she did she saw her father, Paul Maloney,  her teacher, Mr. Lindsey, and Zander's mother, Michelle Phillips.

"What happened," Sierra asked as she rose from the hospital bed. Paul looked at her with a smile "Everyone was rioting and attacking government officials. They said they wouldn't stop until they called off the bloodsheds. So now they did." Sierra started to tear up. She looked at Michelle and said "Where's Zander?" Michelle then turned away hoping no one would notice her crying. "They didn't bring him back," she said as she held back her tears.

A news crew then busted through the door and started asking random questions like "How many did you kill," "what was it like". Paul and Mr. Lindsey started pushing them out the door telling them to leave her alone.

Sierra then started to remember what happened before she blacked out. "Why did the soldiers kill everyone else but me?" Paul looked at her with fear and said "What do you mean? They told us you were the only one alive."

The nurses took out all of the needles in Sierra's arm and Paul and Michelle got her clothes out for her to get dressed.

As they were walking out of the hospital a crowd of people was standing around blocking the parking lot. Paul started pushing through them as they screamed "Murderer. You killed my son. You worthless bitch. You should have died with the rest of them." Sierra began to cry. Her dad helped her into his truck and climbed into the driver's seat. She then looked at him and said "Dad, I am pregnant. It's Zander's baby too." He looked at her and teared up." Its okay sweet," he said as he looked at the steering wheel.

9 months later

"Aw poor little thing. Its alright Georgie," Sierra said changing her new born baby's diaper. She held Georgie's hand and kissed her forehead. She then looked out the window and saw a figure that looked like Zander dressed like a white face. She widened her eyes and rubbed them. Once they were open again he was gone. "Is he still alive," she thought to herself.

She ran walked carefully down stairs to eat breakfast while carrying Georgie in her arms. She saw Michelle cooking eggs and she had all ready made a plate for Sierra. "Thanks Michelle or soon step-mom," Sierra said smiling. Michelle smiled back and took Georgie so Sierra could eat. Michelle then sat down and looked at Sierra for a minute and said "I had a dream about Zander last night. He was painted white and had red hair. He just kept staring at me for some reason." Sierra looked up and said "I was daydreaming and saw him out my window this morning. What if it wasn't a dream? What if he is alive?" Michelle looked at Sierra and started tearing up. "Well then we have to find him," Michelle said as she put the dishes in the sink. Sierra looked at her as she started crying "We have to find the island first."
