Chapter Two
The things Kodaviah had done for his family, man.
He barely even wanted to go to Savvy and Swiftly today, but he didn't really have a choice.
Unfortunately for him, his petrol had almost hit zero along the way, so he had gone to the nearest petrol station, which had really affected everything.
He had just lowkey arrived at the shop, with the song American Boy by Kanye West and Estelle blasting through the speakers as he had left the car to go in the shop.
Let them know a gwan blud
Who Killing em in the UK.
Everybody gonna to say you K
Reluctantly, because most of this press don't mess with me.
Followed by...
He crazy, I know what ya thinkin.
Ribena I know what you're drinking.

What's your persona?
About this Americana Brama.
Am I shallow cause all my clothes designer.
Dressed smart like a London Bloke.
Before he speak his suit bespoke.
And you thought he was cute before.
Look at this peacoat, tell me he's broke.
Savvy and Swiftly was filled with Christmas decorations everywhere, which had ticked off Kodaviah for some reason.
Mainly because Christmas wasn't even that near. Yeah, it was exactly a month away and everything... but it was still pretty much November either way.
Damn. From the way this shop is moving, one would think that Christmas was tomorrow or something.
Yeah, bro, it was the next special occasion.
Although it didn't really help much that Savvy and Swiftly was an immense store, as the queue was insanely long, almost going to the car park.
Which was two metres away from it.
Kodaviah rolled his eyes to the sky.
He didn't have any damn time for this.
He had to get those chocolates for his parents.
What would happen if I don't get the Ferrero Rochers?
Then you'd wish you hadn't asked that question.
That was what Aretha had texted him earlier on, about ten minutes ago right now.
In other words, Kodaviah would have gotten grounded.
Just for not getting chocolate?
This is very important.
Flipping hell, if I didn't have to go to the petrol station, then I would have probably been at the beginning of the line or something.
Not at the end.
Kodaviah had to do something about this.
So he did.
Mercilessly, Kodaviah had pushed past everybody in the line, not considering how long they had been waiting in there for.
He didn't care.
Ferrero Rochers went quickly at this time of the year.
Most especially at this time of year even.
So he therefore didn't want to risk anything.
Inevitably, a lot of people were annoyed over what he was doing, ranting at him for pushing past him but he didn't listen to them.
Aye, what do you think you're doing, bro?!
Go back to the back of the line, where you belong, you mother-
So many people were swearing at him right now, and Kodaviah had never seen such an angry mob of people in his life.
He sighed.
He had told everyone to calm down as he had explained his situation.
"My mum and dad are having a 22nd wedding anniversary party tomorrow, and they want me to get something for them."
"Who the damn hell celebrates their 22nd wedding anniversary? 20th and maybe 21st makes sense, but most definitely not 22nd."
That was coming from a man that had honestly looked like The Notorious BIG.
He had a almost bald head, along with sunglasses.
Kodaviah had asked his parents the same question.
They weren't actually planning to have this party though.
The time that some of their family members (who they hadn't seen in a long time) were coming round was coincidentally the day of their 22nd wedding anniversary.
So they wanted to celebrate.
Made sense.
People were venting at him to go to the back of the line, but Kodaviah had refused to do so, even when a security guard had gone back outside.
Wanting to know what the hell was going on at the moment and why everyone was making such a huge racket in the first place.
Kodaviah had pushed in front of the line, and he had no one to back him up because everybody in the line was mad at him right now.
The light skinned security guard in a tuxedo and sunglasses had forced him to go to the back of the time.
But Kodaviah had argued otherwise.
"Please, man. I'm just a black 19 year old kid tryna do something for his family."
"We're all tryna do something for our families here, regardless of age, so go to the back of the line. That's not a good excuse, at all."
Kodaviah had nothing else to say so he had listened to him because he didn't want to get arrested.
He didn't actually think that this plan was going to work, although it was really worth a try.
As he had suspected, everybody had given him a dirty look as he had gone to the back of the line again, just like had belonged apparently, but he had just ignored them.
He had told Aretha and Arsenio that he would have been back in an hour max thirty minutes ago, however... by the looks of it?
That most definitely wasn't going to happen.
The line had taken forty five minutes to go down, and soon after, Kodaviah was inside of Savvy and Swiftly for good.
And another problem?
The stupid shop had exactly fifty aisles.
Who had the time for this?
Kodaviah had to get these chocolates pronto, and he didn't even know where the chocolate aisle was.
He didn't want to waste any more time, so he had had therefore asked an elderly staff member where the chocolate aisle was.
Thank God that she didn't know that Kodaviah was the one that had caused all of the commotion earlier on, otherwise she would have been rude to him, but she wasn't.
He was even pretty surprised that he was still allowed in the shop to be honest, which was most likely because he had listened to the security guard.
"Excuse me?"
She stopped sweeping to stare at him in the face.
She had the black and pink uniform that Savvy and Swiftly normally had on- collared T Shirt. The T shirt itself was pink but the sleeves and collar were black instead.
That was on the top right of the T shirt in black. Men had uniform in light blue and women could have decided if they wanted to wear black pleated skirt or black trousers instead.
Most went for the second option.
"Uhm... do you sell Ferrero Rochers? Or at least, tell me where the chocolate aisle is."
She had nodded, although Kodaviah didn't know if it was because they had Ferrero Rochers, or if it was because she wanted to show him where the aisle was.
But he wasn't complaining.
They had walked and talked at the same time.
"What do you want the Ferreros for?"
"My parents' wedding anniversary party."
She wanted to guess the year, so she did.
She said 5.
Kodaviah told her higher.
Same for 10 and then 15 as well.
He told her higher again.
She stopped to stare at him blankly.
"How long have they been married for?"
He had told her 22 years reluctantly, and she too wanted to know who had celebrated their 22nd wedding anniversary.
The amount of times Kodaviah had been asked that question was insane.
But he couldn't have been bothered to say anything, so he had just shrugged at her instead.
Although they were at the aisle now, aka aisle 35.
Ferrero Rochers were there.
But Brandy and her seven year old cousin Shanae were lowkey about to take it.
One of the last ones actually...
So this wasn't going to end well, and it didn't.
