❄️Chapter Twelve.❄️
Kodaviah and Brandy had eventually arrived at their final destination together, with both of them getting down simultaneously.
They had taken their time because the song What's Love by Ashanti and Fat Joe was playing on the radio, which both of them were jamming to.
The clean version was played though, it had to be. Profanity wasn't allowed in songs until way after watershed probably.
What's love?
(Got to do, got to do with it, babe)
What's love?
It's about us, it's about trust babe
What's love?
(Got to do, got to do with it, babe)
What's love?
It should be about us
It should be about trust babe
What's love?
Brandy was worried that none of this was going to work out, although Kodaviah had seemed to know very well what he was doing, so who was Brandy to think otherwise?
"I'm really scared, Kodaviah."
She had slid her arm right through his, and Kodaviah's heart had skipped a beat, but he couldn't act upon his feelings.
As he already knew that she had a boyfriend. Plus this whole thing didn't really mean anything anyway.
He was just doing a favour for her, not saving her life. It wasn't a life or death situation for Brandy to go to J Star Valentine's concert today.
Although if she hadn't gone to this concert, it would have been talked about for days on end, and Brandy would have seriously felt as though she was missing out.
She didn't want that.
It had happened before, at Jodeci's concert last month- almost everyone had gone there instead of her, including the Triple Ks along with Esther Marie and Vishavané too.
They hadn't stopped talking about it for days on end, with Brandy feeling guilty that she couldn't have gone because she had an upcoming test to deal with.
Even if she had done so, she had always chose studying first.
Now she had really wished she didn't because she didn't even have much of a social life. She hadn't even remembered the last time she had gone out to enjoy herself.
Or to go to a party.
"You'll be fine, Brandy."
He wanted to be with her so badly but he couldn't have been able to, he hadn't even know her for that long though.
Only two weeks or so but that was it!
I haven't known her for that long but I've really felt as though I've known her all of my life.
There's just something about her, you know? And I know it's only been two weeks but damn.
Brandy sure is a lot greater than a lot of other chicks I've known for a longer amount of time.
They had a really good friendship with each other, with both of them feeling as though they could have told each other anything.
They didn't even speak to each other at university although hopefully that could have changed.
After the very hilly road to get to the store, the two of them had gotten there eventually, not realising the name of the store.
Santarico's Pawn Store
Kodaviah had completely forgotten that his older cousin Santarico (Julio Macias) had pawned concert tickets.
The ones he had gotten was fake.
The shop itself was amazing, and it had looked like this in general:
Although a vast majority of the things there were stolen, which Kodaviah didn't really take into much consideration.
Santarico was busy talking to someone, so busy talking to them that he hadn't even seen both Kodaviah as well as Brandy walk into his pawn shop.
That was until Kodaviah had called his name, and when the two of them had seen each other, that was when they had fist bumped each other.
Which had then turned into a huge hug.
Brandy had felt pretty invisible here at the moment, but she didn't want to ruin the reunite with two cousins.
"Kodaviah! Been time, bro! I ain't remember the last time I seen you!"
Just because they were cousins didn't mean that they had talked to each other, because they hadn't. Kodaviah was still in university at the moment.
And Santarico had finished university a long long time ago now.
"How long has it been?"
"Long arse time bro, anyway I need you to do a favour for me real quick."
Brandy didn't feel very comfortable around here, most especially with the music but she didn't say anything about it.
I got broads in Atlanta
Twistin' dope, lean, and the Fanta
Credit cards and the scammers
Hittin' off licks in the bando
Black X6, Phantom
White X6 looks like a panda
Goin' out like I'm Montana
Hundred killers, hundred hammers
She really didn't listen to this kind of music at all. She had listened to Christian music instead, and as it was nearing Christmas at the moment.
She had listened to gospel Christmas songs too.
The song wasn't even the clean version, it was the dirty version instead, with a lot of profanity, which was something that Brandy here was completely against.
"Sure, man. Anything for my fav cousin. Whatcha need?"
Actually...
Kodaviah didn't need anything.
"Then I don't get it, why the heck you here?"
Not that Santarico had had anything against that or anything, because he didn't. In fact, he was glad that Kodaviah was here at the moment.
Although both of them knew that the journey here, most especially from his university wasn't the safest or fastest journey.
"I need you to do a little something something for Señorita Brandy here."
Brandy wasn't even Spanish although she didn't say anything. Santarico had just scanned her up and down, thinking something.
He was smoking at the moment, spitting his cigarette out in the nearest bin, then he had said something once and for all.
"How comes I ain't ever seen this chick before? She your girlfriend?"
Hahaha.
No!
Kodaviah wished though.
But he knew that was never going to happen, maybe it would have done so in the future. But Kodaviah didn't want to dwell on anything.
"Nah, she's taken."
"By who?"
Brandy had just told him that he wouldn't have known the guy, but she was clearly mistaken. Because when she had told Santarico about Jahking?
For some reason?
He had seemed to be over the damn moon about that.
