To her surprise, Brandy didn't block Vishavané.

Maybe because she had missed her, or maybe because she couldn't have been bothered.

Most likely the latter.

Vishavané was now talking to her on the phone as Kodaviah was in his hospital room- Vish couldn't have seen him yet.

"What do you mean, no?"

"I don't like him, Vishavané. And there's nothing you can do to make me change my mind about him."

Esther Marie was having a shower right now, which she had always done after university to at least freshen up.

Vishavané had facepalmed herself.

"Brandy. Kodaviah's in hospital."

"Yeah so?" She had hissed angrily. "I thought I told him not to accept the offer but he didn't listen!"

"Are you being for real right now?!" Vishavané had argued back. "When your mother and brother were in hospital and Esther and I couldn't have made it. Who was there for you? Kodaviah!"

Brandy didn't say anything.

Sadly, she was right.

He had even gotten her roses.

Kodaviah was literally in a life or death situation as of right now, so if Brandy and Esther Marie hadn't come on time then he might have been done for.

Vishavané had already contacted the rest of The Triple Ks because of this, who had told them that they were all on their way.

So she didn't need to worry.

But Khamil and Kalahandra coming solely just didn't seem like enough people, hence why Vishavané here had decided to contact Esther Marie and Brandy as well.

Brandy and Esther Marie had coincidentally come to the hospital around the same time as Kalahandra as well as Khamil did.

Before that though, Vish couldn't have stopped stressing about him.

The doctor had said to her that Kodaviah would have been fine, but Vishavané didn't want to dwell on it, with Vishavané panicking.

This was the same hospital that Brandy's mother and brother were in as well.

When Esther Marie, Brandy, Kalahandra and Khamil had walked inside, it was so loud that they could have caused an earthquake.

Esther Marie was eating chicken and chips, with Vishavané having a go at her for that.

She didn't really have time to eat apparently, so they had quickly dashed to a restaurant before they had gotten here.

Explained why they were about forty minutes late to the hospital when their university was only about twenty minutes away from here.

All of them wanted to know how he was, as soon as the doctor had come out of where he had been before.

His name was Isaiah, with dreadlocks, light skin and dimples too.

He had sighed.

"How's Kodaviah?"

How did he break this to them?

"Kodaviah checked out."

They had looked at each other blankly, wanting to know what that had meant sadly.

"Kodaviah's dead," he had explained, frowning. "He just died. He had brain haemorrhage, caused by high blood pressure. He had too much exercise, which was harmful. Especially for one day. And your mother just died too, Brandy, I'm afraid. The car crash injuries really got to her. But your brother survived."

Two losses for Brandy?

She had bursted into tears.

Tears of joy when her brother Feranmi had come out from the hospital room alive and he had hugged her really tightly.

Vice versa too.

But tears of sadness when she had realised that her mother didn't come out of the hospital room, because she had died.

J Star Valentine and Shawntae had been arrested for what they had done to Kodaviah, and their plan had been to indirectly try to kill him this whole time.

Why?

They were jealous.

That was why.

Kodaviah was becoming more popular than them and they didn't like it, so instead of just addressing him about the whole situation...

They had literally just ended his life as well.

Brandy had a Science competition at university about a week after Kodaviah and her mother's funeral, with all of them really bursting their eyes out when they had been buried.

At the back of the church.

She didn't end up winning the science competition, mainly because she was still grieving.

But she couldn't have said no to it, as she had already promised her teacher that she would have come, and she didn't break promises.

After the science contest, Brandy had then decided to go and visit their graves- which were right next to each other.

A lot of people had tried to comfort her friends and more or less the Double Ks now over Kodaviah's very tragic yet kind of predictable death.

Brandy's brother had stayed at their cousin's Shanae's house, which Brandy had visited from time to time as well.

She cried as she had looked down at them.

Mum and Kodaviah...

I know y'all are dead right now and you can't hear me but...

I'm really sorry.

Especially to you, Kodaviah.

I treated you like dirt when you didn't treat me the same. I should have respected your decision to come here.

Gosh, I wish you guys were still alive.

I also did that science competition, I came third place.

It's not the same without you guys.

She had put the roses on their grave and she had bawled her eyes out because nobody was watching her... or so she thought.

Her ex boyfriend Jahking who she had broken up with on good terms, had just so happened to be there, wanting to visit his sister's grave who had died recently too.

She had killed herself.

He had tapped her gently, and she had looked at him, hugging him.

They had both stared at the graves and they had brooded over Kodaviah and Brandy's mother together, with Jahking saying that he was having a birthday party soon.

She could have grieved over them, just not forever, and he really wanted to cheer her up.

"I don't know. Kodaviah died going to a party. I don't want the same thing happening to me."

"J Star and Shawntae weren't genuine people. But I am. You don't have to though."

She didn't know.

She had sighed.

Especially as she had looked down at their graves again.

"When's your birthday party?"

"In twenty seven days."
