🎄Chapter Seven.🎄

Eva Longoria (picture above) as Mrs Solis.... like in Desperate Housewives, if you've watched that. Enjoy!

Chapter Seven.

"Girlll, I'm telling you. J Star Valentine's concert tonight finna be lit!" Esther Marie had told Brandy and Vishavané as they had walked down the corridors together.

Their arms were all interlocked with each other- Brandy was in the middle, Esther was on the right and Vishavané was on the left.

They had just finished their lectures for the day, and because it was Friday, they therefore had the weekend free.

Almost everybody at university at the moment were going to J Star Valentine (Tupac)'s concert tonight, featuring his girlfriend Shawntae (Da Brat).

They couldn't wait for it.

"Yeah, tickets are gonna be delivered to us tonight," Vishavané inputted. "Hopefully, we get good seats for that thing, 'cause if we don't? Then this chica gonna complain."

"Ayeee."

Esther Marie and Vishavané had seemed very hyped up about this concert, which Brandy had absolutely nothing against, but how could she have told her friends that she didn't want to go because she wanted to study?

She hadn't actually gotten a ticket yet, and she had lied to her friends that she would have done so, but she didn't.

Tickets were out three days ago, and they were going to going to be emailed to everybody today. It was lowkey the talk of the entire university.

That was for sure.

Esther Marie had realised that Brandy didn't really seem too hyped up about this concert, like her and Vishavané were right now.

So she had no choice really but to ask her why this was the case.

She sighed.

Her friends wouldn't have understood.

Not that they weren't serious, but they weren't as serious as her sometimes.

Screw it, she had told them straight up, and if they didn't understand that, then that was their issue, not hers.

They didn't understand- kind of like Brandy had suspected.

"What? Girl, you said that you were coming though."

"No, Esther. You said that I was coming. You and Vishavané. Yeah, I lied about it, but you guys should know it by now. I don't go to concerts, end of story."

Vishavané was just lowkey about to argue with her but she didn't because just then the speakers had announced that Brandy should have gone over to Mrs Solis' office right now.

Mrs Solis was the (fictional) headteacher of the entire university and she was Latin American. She was actually really nice to be honest, and about 95% of people liked her.

"Ooh, damn. You got called."

"You reckon she's in trouble?" Vishavané wanted to know.

"She's never in trouble, girl. She's Brandy."

Brandy rolled her eyes.

She was sick and tired of people assuming that she was "perfect", because she was smart. But she wasn't perfect.

She inevitably had flaws of her own.

Many flaws of her own.

She didn't even have the energy to argue with any of them- she just went to the office. Kodaviah had been watching her in the meantime but Brandy didn't notice this, as she was running.

The Triple Ks were chilling on the bench, also talking about J Star Valentine's concert as well. But Kodaviah seemed distracted.

As always.

Kalahandra rolled his eyes.

"Dude, get over her," he had told Kodaviah, nudging him. "She has a boyfriend- Jahking Guillory?"

"Word up, and why ain't you even mad at her for not telling you?"

Because she had told him straight up.

It wasn't as though she had secretly had a boyfriend this whole time and she didn't tell Kodaviah about it at all.

Brandy had met Jahking recently.

He went to the university of Loughborough, and he had studied Law instead. Very intelligent guy as well.

The two of them seemed happy together.

Kodaviah had wished that it was him and Brandy together but if she was happy with Jahking then so be it.

Although what he didn't know was that...

Jahking had so much university coursework lately that he was too busy-- too busy for Brandy.

He was actually busy though.

He didn't just blow her off.

He wasn't like that.

And even though it didn't even concern him to begin with, Kodaviah really wanted to know why Brandy was called in to Mrs Solis' office just now.

Brandy wanted to know the exact same thing.

That was what her office had looked like at the moment.

Mrs Solis was the most organised person that Brandy knew.

"You said you wanted to see me?"

"Brandy, my angel," She had oftentimes referred to people at the university as angels or darlings (or just anything sweet in general)... because she had treated everyone at university as her child.

She had two children, and she was moreover in her late forties as well.

Either way, she had told Brandy to close the door behind her, as Brandy had asked her if she was in trouble.

After they had hugged each other.

Because they were really close.

"Trouble?" She shook her head. "No, of course not, never think that. You're one of the best students we have here."

"Then I don't understand. What's the problem?"

Mrs Solis just told her to sit down opposite her, as she had done the same thing.

This was going to be some very traumatising news for Brandy, she she didn't know how to break it to her at all.

"Your mother and younger 11 year old brother. I just got a call about them from the ambulance and they said I should tell you."

"Deshauna and Feranmi?"

Mrs Solis nodded.

"They got in a car accident and they're at the hospital right now."

Brandy didn't know how to react to that.

The good always came with the bad!

She felt completely mortified.

Lost.

She wanted to throw up.

Mrs Solis just looked at her in worry.

"Brandy?"

"Are they OK?" She had wanted to know, her voice breaking.

Sadly, because she was smart, some people always always expected her to put on a brave face, even if she didn't want to.

But she could have been herself with Mrs Solis-hence why they were so close. Hence why she liked her.

"They're fine, but apparently they only have 27 days or less left to live."

"Why 27?"

Mrs Solis didn't know.

So she had shrugged as a result of this.

But the doctors and/or nurses at the hospital probably did, hence why Mrs Solis had recommended that Brandy should have gone there before it was too late for her to do so.

Luckily, the hospital was only 5 minutes away by car, and about 10-15 by walking.

Brandy left immediately, thanking her for everything.

She really hoped they were OK.

Having 27 days or less left to live didn't even seem like that long.

Well, that's the end of my double update. I really hope you enjoyed.
