Chapter Sixteen
"Ash, can you finish up this seat chart for the reception," The honey blonde approached me as I realized she was wearing a tight tank top, and black spandex.
"Finishing up the dress?" I asked as she nodded. She gave me the paper, and I casually left it on the table, "I will after I cook dinner," I stated in which she thanked and locked herself back into her studio room.
I got up, and turned off the television. These past days, I promised Serena that I would do the cooking, and cleaning since I wanted her to finish up her dress.
It has come to the point, where she left Miette in charge of her boutique. They were business partners. She has been locked in her room, since two days ago.
Entering the kitchen, I opened up the fridge. I had no idea what to cook. I still wasn't used to making the French cuisines that Serena makes. If I cooked it would be Japanese dishes. Thing was, I can't cook Japanese again, I have been doing that a lot lately.
I decided with what was in the fridge, I would make some coq au vin, due to the fact that the ingredients were all present. I washed my hands, as I began to take out the ingredients.
This dish actually does take a while to be cooked due to making the stock, and cooking the vegetables. Especially since Serena loved eating this with rooster meat, and rooster meat took about two hours to get cooked.
Serena actually taught me how to make this dish with Grace's recipe. She explained it was her favorite dish as a child. And, I decided it would be nice to give her that nostalgic feeling since she's undergoing stress.
I took a seat on the chair, as I took a glance at the empty chart. She really is trusting me with this.
I grabbed my pencil, and decided to have our families separated. Mine would be in the left, and hers in the right.
I remembered how much my mom wanted me to have a Japanese tradition wedding, but I wasn't really into the idea since we weren't in Japan. I told Serena, and she seem okay with the idea. But, I knew that she had an ideal wedding in mind. She reassured me many times, but in the end I wanted to go with hers after seeing the venues, and decorations.
My mom also liked how much Serena put effort into it. She said that her designing in clothes has shaped her to becoming into a talented, and creative women.
That honey blonde is very successful, and I admire that about her. I, only am the manager in an engineering company, but I knew in the end that my mom's restaurant would be handed down to me.
I haven't told Serena about it, because I don't want her giving up her boutique. I know she would, since she has Miette who can take it over at any given moment.
I took one more look at the sheet. It looked fine to me. So, after I placed it on the counter, I saw that the food was done. I headed over to the stove as placed the hot dinner on the plate.
I placed it on our dining table, and decided to grab wine as a drink. I smiled as I couldn't wait for Serena's reaction. After finishing the table, I want to her studio, and knocked on the door.
She opened it slightly.
"The food is ready," I informed her as a smile grew on her face. She quickly allowed herself out of the room, and closed it from behind.
"What did you cook?" She asked as I grabbed her hand, and dragged her out of the hall.
"You'll see," I winked at her.
We entering the dining room, and her eyes widen at the sight of the food on the table. "You cooked my favorite dish?"
I wrapped my arms around, "Of course I did," I gave her a small kiss on her forehead. "I know your stress about finsihing your dress," I told her as she gave me a hug.
"Thank you, Ash,"
