Day 6 ~ GaLe ~ By Far, The Best Day

"Are you sure shrimp? I can come with you if you want." Gajeel made another attemot to get the small bluenette to not go on this mission alone.

"I need to do this! I don't need anyone's help!" Levy retorted.

"But what if you get hurt, or something? Nobody'll be there to save ya, you know that right?"

"I know!" Levy snatched the request from the board, and walked over to Mira. "I'll take this one."

"Are you sure? This one is pretty dangerous... Maybe Gajeel could accompany you?" Mira smiled, but Levy knew the real reason behind Mira's wanting Gajeel to come with.

"I can do it myself." Levy insisted. I see what she's doing. There's no way she's going to win this.

"Shrimp, just let me come with. Somebody's gotta protect ya."

"I can take care of myself!" Levy yelled at him, quite irritated.

"At least bring someone." Mira suggested.

"Where's Lu-chan?" Levy asked, looking around the guild for her blonde friend.

"She's on a mission with Natsu."

"Ugh! Ever since they started going out, they always go on missions together!" Levy groaned.

"At least she can accept her feelings~!" Mira sang.

"There are no feelings that need to be accepted!"

"Your blush says otherwise~!" Mira pointed to the dark blush on Levy's face.

"I'm not blushing!" Levy lied, covering her face to hide her obvious blush.

"Whatever you say, but Gajeel is coming with you." Mira finalized.

"No! I can do it alone!"

"Not unless you're a dragon slayer." Mira turned the request from towards Levy.

Required: Dragon Slayer of Any Kind

"What about Wendy? Wendy can come with me!" Levy searched frantically for Wendy around the guild.

"She's not here." Mira stopped Levy's search. "She's on a mission with Carla, Happy, and Cana."

"There has to be a different dragon slayer!"

"What's so wrong with bringing me, shrimp? Am I that scary that you can't be around me?"

"No! Of course not, it's just..." Levy trailed off, not knowing how to respond to his question. "Fine," she sighed, "you can come with."

"Yay~!" Mira fangirled, and signed the form. "Be safe! Don't worry about when to come back! Just spend as much time as needed with each other!" Mira rambled as she pushed the two out of the guild, and slapped the form into Gajeel's hand. "Bye you two! Have fun~!" She waved as she entered the guild again.

"Let's go to the train station then." Levy decided, and they started their walk in silence to the train station. They would occasionally glance at each other, but when they ended up looking at eachother at the same time, they would quickly turn their heads away, a blush adorning their faces.

They arrived at the train station, and Levy got the tickets from the conductor, and they boarded the train. Gajeel, of course being a dragon slayer, was sick before the train even started moving.

"This is kinda pathetic..." Levy sweatdropped as she watched his face turn green with sickness.

"Shut... Up..." Gajeel managed to say as he lied there. When the train started moving, he almost threw up right there.

"Don't worry, it's not that long of a ride." How does Lucy deal with Natsu when he gets like this? Is there some magic way to get him to feel better? Well, of course there is! Wendy! But she isn't here... And even when Wendy isn't there, how does she do it? Levy thought as she watched the dragon slayer lie there in pain. I can't help but feel guilty. He's just so vulnerable in this state, and he's in pain for crying out loud! What to do... What to do... She started running her hand through his hair, and he stopped shaking, but then she realized what she was doing. Gah! What am I doing!? She retracted her hand quickly, and Gajeel started shaking again. Ah, so that's what she does? She just... Pets him? Oh, if Mira found out... Levy continued to think as she ran her hand through his hair. This actually is making me feel better... That was her last thought before she fell asleep, her fingers still interwined in Gajeel's hair.

"Shrimp."

Levy heard her "nickname" and sat up quickly. There was drool on the side of her mouth, and some of her hair was in her mouth, while the rest was messy and sticking up in the back of her head.

"Don't you look attractive?" Gajeel laughed.

"Huh?" Levy reached in her bag, and pullled out a mirror. She nearly screamed when she saw her reflection. "Oh my god... My hair is a mess!"

"You look fine to me. You're still a short little bookworm." Gajeel ruffled her hair with his hand.

"I'm not that short!"

"Sure you aren't. Come on. The train stopped 5 minutes ago. You're lucky they didn't leave again." Gajeel started walking out of the cart, but turned back around when he saw Levy digging through her bag. "What are you looking for, shrimp?"

"A brush." Levy answered simply as she continued her search.

"Here." Gajeel took of his jacket and threw it at her as gently as he could. "Just wear that over your head and no one will look at you."

"I think they're gonna look at me if I have a giant coat over my head!"

"Well, it is cold out there anyways, but fine. If you don't want it,  I'll take it back." Gajeel reached for the coat.

Levy jumped right out of Gajeel's arms length. "I never said I didn't want it."

"Oh?" Gajeel had the biggest grin on his face. "So you want to wear my coat?"

"I don't like you!"

"I never asked if you did." Gajeel smirked.

"Yes you did!" Levy defended.

"No I didn't. That means you do like me. Well you don't have to worry 'bout it shrimp." Gajeel put his arm around her shoulder and pulled her close to him, surprising her. "'Cause I like ya too. Now let's get this job done, shall we?"

"S-Sure..." Levy nodded as she tried to hide the blush on her face with his coat.
