The rain hit the pavement, starting slow, then increasing its speed until it was pouring. Levi watched the rain fall from his window. Perfect day to rain. He thought as he grabbed his coat, shoes, and a bouquet of one dozen roses, and started his journey out of the house, without an umbrella, so he was quickly soaked.

Levi walked down the driveway of his house, and onto the sidewalk. His destination was not that far, so he saw no need to drive, and he sure as hell didn't want to. Not today.

He passed Hanji's house, and she peered out her window and all she could do was give him an apologetic look, then shut the curtains.

He was glad she didn't come outside, and talk to him. He didn't need, or want, her to apologize. Apologizing does nothing.

Upon arriving at his destination, the roses were drenched, but he set them down on the stone anyways. The stone that read:

Levi brushed his fingers over the embedded words, and bit his lip. "Hey, how have you been?" He asked, "I bet you're doing a lot better there than we are here. I mean, Erd joined you last year, so you can't be that lonely." He looked oer to the tombstone to his right:

"There's a part of me, that wishes it was me who died in that accident, not you... But then again, that'd mean you'd be here all alone, and it hurts me to think of that. You were way to young. There was so much more you could have done with your life. That drunk bastard shouldn have died instead, but no. It was you. He's lucky I didn't kill him myself," Levi clenched his fist, "because if I were to get my hands on him..." He unballed his hands. "But you wouldn't want me to. Anyways, I miss you. I really need you right now. I lost my job, and now I have to get a new one to pay for the house, and pay off the car... In other news, that brat, Eren, finally proposed to Mikasa. Yeah, they're planning on getting married next month. I think the arranged date is May 20th, but I'm not sure." He sat down on the ground, not caring how dirty his jeans would get. "I still can't accept this, you know? The fact that you're gone... Even though it's been 2 years, it still haunts me every night. They keep telling me that I should get over you, and get re-married, but I just can't. I can survive without being in a relationship. Even if I had to live forever, there is no one I would want to be with besides you. Just you." Levi looked at his watch. "I have to go now. I have an interview in less than an hour that I have to get to, but if I could, I swear, I would stay by your side for the rest of my life."

And he got up from the ground, and began his walk back to his house to change.

Levi looked up at the sky, then back in front of him. Perfect day to rain. He thought as he fiddled with the ring on his left hand.
