DAY 25: Departure

The Garchomp closed the book after reading the last story, and he looked at the reader with a calm gaze. “Seems that we finished the book.” He said with a faint chuckle. “It sure was fun. Seeing our characters go through ordeals, and be able to have the best Christmas of them all.” The Garchomp set the book down on the table next to his chair, and it was when you realized.. You had to go home. It is unclear on how many hours or days you have spent with this Dragon/Ground type Pokemon reading the stories provided in this book, but you knew that your family were worried. So you got up from the beanbag chair, and approach the curtains shown in the room, to see if there is any light coming from outside. But to your surprise, it is night. Sure, the storm has ended, but now it is too dark to venture out in the snowy outdoors. You feel sad, remembering the events that lead you to this moment. If only you’d leave earlier. If only you weren’t distracted by the light. Maybe you could carry out on your goal. But then again, you may do a good choice, considering that you may get frostbite if you proceeded out any further. But then.. How would you get back to your home?

“..Uhh.. Excuse me..” The Garchomp spoke, snapping out of your trance of thought. “You okay? Why you staring outside?” You explain your situation to the Garchomp, and he seemed to be saddened. “Oh. I am so sorry. I didn’t know you were supposed to be out sooner.” He looked away.

You reassure him that it’s fine.

“..Hmmm.. What to do..” The garchomp looked at the floor, scratching his head with his singular claw. “Hmm.. Why don’t I.. go with you? I could take you to your home- well, as long as you lead me to there, of course.” The Garchomp suggested. Well, you do need someone with you. Either to use them as bait, to have them watch your back, or have them act like your Pokemon partner. This is strange to you, but after careful thinking, you agree. The Garchomp huffed and got off from the chair. “Okay, then lets get going. Follow me.” He said before walking to the door furthest away from you, opens it, and cold air from outside comes in. It’s a good thing you finish your hot chocolate, because you’d be frozen like a popsicle. You went to go towards the door, but then, you notice the book the Garchomp left on the table. Those stories within that book.. You feel like you should keep it- probably because you wanna keep it as a gift. So you took (or steal?) the book and put it on your coat pocket, and soon, you went outside.

The travel was trecherous- having to deal with tons of snow, the cold, and sometimes, foot cramps. But soon, you arrived at your hometown. You got off the Garchomp’s back, as that is what you do half the time you spent traveling with this dragon, and when you look around, you saw that the stores are closed, and the lights in every house is off. It is time to go to bed.

You look to the Garchomp, who is looking off to the distance. “Well, seems I should get going.” He mumbled.. And he started to walk away from you. As he walked away, you feel like you should do something. So, you started to approach the Garchomp, and when he least expects it, you jump up, wrap your arms around his neck and RKO him to the snowy ground-

[TAKE TWO]

And when the Garchomp least expects it, you went in front of him, and hugged him. You feel his rough scales press against your face, and the warmth made you feel comfort. “U-Uhhhhh, hey! Why ya huggin me?” He asks, but you didn’t answer. “..Erm.. I guess that’s fair. Ya gonna miss me, after all. But hey,” The Garchomp pets the reader’s head. “I’ll meet you soon, okay?” The Garchomp huffed, and soon, you stop hugging him, and waved goodbye to him as he walked off to the distance.. Simingly disappearing into the darkness. Odd.

After seeing the big dragon leave.. You went to face your home town, sigh, and start to head to your home..

MERRY CHRISTMAS!
