Chapter 9

When they woke up later in the afternoon , the good mood had vanished and the concern for Changbin was way too noticeable again.

They both hadn't slept really well, too much had happened in the last few hours.

After they had quickly showered together, they made their way to the hospital in silence.

Again, they felt damn much reminded of their vacation on Jeju and tears rolled down Jisung cheeks when he sat next to Chan and the memories in him rose.

"We..." Chan took a deep breath and continued talking, "Everything will be fine, baby! Tomorrow we will take Binnie with us and go back to Jeju. If we are forced to take a break, we can also spend it on the beach."

Jisung looked at him a little skeptically at first, but then, very slowly, a hopeful glow appeared in his eyes.

"Do you think we can take him with us tomorrow?" he asked quietly and hope resonated in his voice.

"I see no reason why we shouldn't. The wound in his leg is taken care of and they have certainly already attached a drip against alcohol poisoning at night," Chan suspected and grabbed Jisung's hand.

After Chan had parked, they put on masks and caps to make themselves as unrecognizable as possible and got out.

Uncertainly, they walked over the long, impersonal, disinfectant-smelling corridors and were somehow afraid of what they would expect. How Changbin would react if he saw them.

After taking a deep breath, Jisung knocked on the door and opened when he heard a soft "come in."

Chan had put his hand on Jisung's back and gently pushed him into the room.

Changbin sat on his bed and stared out the window. He didn't even look up to see who had come into the room.

"Hey Binnie..." Jisung muttered and hesitantly walked towards the bed.

Which led to Changbin turning around and looking at Jisung with tears in his eyes.

When Jisung noticed the tears, he immediately ran to the bed, sat on it and pulled the elder to him. "Everything will be okay...!" he whispered and gently caressed Changbin's back.

Nevertheless, the tears ran down Changbin's cheeks. He raised his head and looked at Chan so desperately and sadly that it broke the leader's heart. Because he knew very well that he was to blame for all this.

Hesitantly and with trembling hands, which he hid behind his back, Chan walked closer to the two, but remained uncertainly a bit away.

To his surprise, Changbin reached out to him, looking at him sadly. "Come here, baby," he whispered.

Still a little uncertain, Chan went to him and sat down.

Changbin was less hesitant. He sighed sadly and pulled Chan to himself. "I'm so sorry about everything..." he whispered and gently stroked Chan's hair.

With trembling fingers, Chan wiped away Changbin's tears and leaned against him for a moment. "I'm the one who has to say sorry..."

Grinning, Jisung rolled his eyes and suppressed a snort. "Is it okay now? Can we stop thinking about who's to blame and apologize for everything? We won't get any further like that," he grumbled to his Hyungs, who looked at him in surprise.

"Anyone can make a mistake. And even if Chan really messed up, it happened now. And yet I know we're stronger than that! So far no one has managed to separate us and the incident will not either! It will just show who is behind us and who we should leave behind!" Jisung continued, making Chan and Changbin's astonishment even bigger.

For a moment, the two stared at each other before they had to laugh. "Why is the little one smarter than us?" Changbin shook his head with a laugh.

"He has had less time to use up his wisdom, so he has more of it than we do," Chan chuckled and received a punch against his shoulder.

With a pout on his lips, Jisung wanted to jump out of bed, but Changbin held him tight. "You stay here!"

"Do you know when you can leave the hospital again? Because we are going to kidnap you," Chan asked in a soft, conspiratorial voice and winked at Jisung, who immediately began to smile.

"Tomorrow as far as I know. Although I would actually like to release myself on own responsibility," Changbin whispered and looked quite unhappy again.

Just when Chan wanted to say something back, it knocked on the door, causing Chan and Jisung to jump out of bed quickly.

"As I see, you already have visitors. If your friends take care of you, then there would be nothing against it from our side if you went home tomorrow morning."

Chan nodded with a satisfied face, because he had already thought of exactly that, while Jisung looked a little insecure.

"Do we have to pay attention to anything when he's back home?" he asked with wide, uncertain eyes, which elicited a charming smile from the doctor.

"The wound on the leg is well taken care of and heals well. And fortunately, the alcohol poisoning was not serious. As long as he takes the prescribed painkillers and stays away from alcohol, everything should be fine."

Fortunately, that was exactly the news they had expected and even if it was boring to spend time in the hospital, Changbin would survive the one night.

"Tomorrow morning, around 10 o'clock is the final visit and after that you can leave."

"That sounds wonderful!"

"Well, then I'll leave you to your friends."

With that, the young doctor said goodbye and left the room, while Chan, Jisung and Changbin looked at each other with relieved.

"What do you think about having a late lunch together? The food here in the hospital is really not that delicious," Changbin muttered.

"Maybe more of an early dinner, considering how late it is already, but of course. What do you like, baby?" Chan asked, smiling.

"Pizza!"

The sparkle in Changbin's eyes made Chan smile. "Gladly. I'll be back in half an hour." With the words, he stood up and had already disappeared from the room before Changbin and Jisung could really react.

"May I... may I come cuddle," Jisung asked quietly, who urgently needed some closeness.

Without replying, Changbin slid as far as he could to the side and made room so that Jisung could lie down next to him. Sighing, he wrapped his arms around the younger, closed his eyes, and inhaled his familiar smell.

They didn't know exactly how they had managed to fall asleep, but they woke up from the fact that the door slammed a little too loudly against the wall.

"Sorry... I didn't want to disturb you," Chan muttered and carefully balanced the pizza into the room. "Can you make room on the table?"

Yawning, Jisung straightened up, pulled the tray out of the side table and took the pizza.

"Mmmh it smells insanely good."

And since they hadn't really eaten much lately, the huge pizza was eaten in no time.

Extremely satisfied, Changbin sank back into bed and closed his eyes yawning.

"Okay, Binnie, we're going home now to get some things done and tomorrow we'll be back at 10 o'clock to pick you up, okay?" Chan asked, reaching for Changbin's hand again.

"Sure. It doesn't make much sense if we all just sit here," Changbin muttered with a crooked grin on his lips.

"Right!" Relieved and full of enthusiasm, Chan bent over the younger one and kissed him lovingly. "I love you!"

"I love you too, Sugar!" Changbin whispered.

"Hey, I want a kiss and some love too!" Jisung grumbled and plucked at Changbin surgical shirts.

"As much love as you want, Peach," Changbin mumbled, kissing the younger gently before detaching from him and cupping his face with his hands. "I love you!"

"I love you too, Honey!" Jisung chuckled with a contented sparkle in his eyes. "See you tomorrow."

Only when they were back in the car did Jisung finally dare to ask the question that had been burning on his tongue all the time.

"Why did you want to go home now?" he asked, because they were clearly on their way to their apartment.

"Even though we plan to disappear to Jeju, I thought it might be quite good if Binnie doesn't come back to a completely devastated room."

Jisung nodded thoughtfully. After leaving the hospital in the middle of the night after Changbin's surgery, they just went to bed. The apartment was in a disastrous state and Changbin really didn't have to see that.

Armed with garbage bags and cleaning products, they first went to clean up Changbin's room and free it from the remains of the incident.

Jisung changed the bed sheets, while Chan had taken it over to pick up the shards and empty bottles.

After two hours there was absolutely nothing left of what had happened here and they set out to clean the rest of the apartment.

Exhausted, they finally treated themselves to a quick shower together before snuggling up in bed together.

"I'm glad that Binnie is doing reasonably well," Jisung whispered and pressed himself against Chan, while he gently played with the younger's hair.

"I think we should pay close attention to how he is doing at least for a while now. And we shouldn't leave him alone. I don't want to risk something like that happening again," Chan whispered, burying his face in the crock of Jisung's neck so that the younger one wouldn't see the tears in his eyes.

"Sounds like a good idea."

Cuddled close to each other, they just lay there for quite a while and tried to fall asleep, which none of them wanted to succeed, although they were pretty k.o.

"I miss Binnie," Jisung whispered and Chan was sure that the younger would start crying any moment.

"I know baby... I miss him too. So much..." Chan whispered, pressing his lips together. His tears ran down his cheeks, but he tried to be strong and roughly wiped them away. "Shall we... do we want to book our holiday apartment? Maybe we can sleep then...?"

Without even thinking about it for a second, Jisung jumped up and took Chan's laptop from his desk.

"Absolutely... being by the sea sounds fantastic. Actually I think it doesn't matter where we are... just not here."

With an unhappy smile, Chan nodded.

And indeed, the search for a holiday apartment managed to give them a little better mood again.

Jisung's eyes lit up again and anticipation spread in his stomach when Chan clicked on the "Book now" button.

"I think I can sleep now. But only if I get another kiss," he muttered and pulled Chan to himself after the older closed his laptop and put it aside.

"As many kisses as you want, baby," Chan whispered, gently pressing his lips to the younger's.

Do we feel safe?
