A Word Misunderstood
And Often Underrated
It Is The Definition Of Total Control
And It Shakes The Cores Of This Universe

They Say It Can Be Found With Money,Riches And Material Gains
Ultimately Setting The Standards For What Humans Strive For
Condemning Us To A Life Of Pain,Desperation And SLAVERY
Creating A World Of Classes And Divisions Based On Our Perception Of Power And What Comes Along With It

Bearing Witness To What Power Is Perceived To Be In A Young And Struggling Strong Black Woman
I Learn Everyday That It Is A Road Of Never Ending Agony And Plain Disrespect
You Are Ridiculed When You Do Not Live Up To Others Expectations Of Exercising Your Power
Spat Upon And Cursed When Your Power Intimidates Them

What Is Our Power They Always Remember To Ask?
Our Power Lies In Everything Here And Beyond
It Shines For All To See
Yet Too Bright For All Who Do Not Believe
It's The Rhythm That Moves Our Feet
They Are The Words We Preach To Our Seeds

It's When Our Weaknesses Become Are Greatest Strengths
When Our Spirit Never Gives Up The Fight
Thus Never Giving Up On Us
We Are Living Our Dreams Day By Day
It Really Is
Our Struggle
Our Sweat
Our Pain
Our Pride
Our Story
And It's Where My Power Lies.
