Round opener, closer, and a reconfigured track part 2

Tonight, the NASCAR Cup Series will decrease the playoff drivers from 16 to 12 after the night race at Bristol! Sunday is for Singapore and Formula 1. Who will pit in a hard day's work to get the victory?

Cup predicted winner: Chris Buescher

Buescher has been on a role heading into the playoffs. With a strong 3 wins at Richmond, Michigan, and Daytona, he has put himself in a position to be a championship 4 dark horse. While it's a little nervous for him being 13 points above the cutline, he won at Bristol only a year ago, breaking a whopping 222 race winless streak. It was the 2nd longest winless streak ever. Do you know 2 guys who broke long winless streaks just like that? Bill Elliott and Martin Truex Jr., Cup champions. Enough said, lol.

F1 predicted podium:

1st Max Verstappen

While it was a big surprise to see Max Verstappen miss Q3, he has won from further back before. He has been on another record-breaking season, winning the last 10 races in a row, from 11th on the grid shall come his 11th consecutive win.

2nd Carlos Sainz

One podium at Ferrari's home turf can be the start of a strong stretch for Carlos Sainz. He has been the best Ferrari all weekend, and he has been the best Ferrari driver for the entire year. He drove his heart out to hold off the Red Bulls but was best of the rest, 2nd will be nice for him to help Ferrari be 2nd in the constructors championship.

3rd George Russell

The old Mr. Saturday has come to life qualifying on the front row. It has been a little but of a lackluster year for George, yet he can still show he can run up with the best of them. Mercedes doesn't have the straight line speed they used to have, but can race better. Russell can get his elbows out to get his first podium since Spain this year.
