Man, it seems like every street around here is "under construction."  I purposely use the quotes because although they have lane closures everywhere and about a bajillion orange cones out, I feel like I hardly ever see any actual work being done.  It's like they just get a kick out of closing down lanes.  

I have to go to work really early in the morning a lot of days and one of the small perks of it was I usually hardly ever ran into much traffic.  That has not been the case the last several days.  They have the freeway down to one lane overnight and I've hit bumper-to-bumper traffic jams at 5 in the morning.  And the entire time I haven't seen any actual construction being done on the freeway.

All I know is whoever owns all those orange cones they put out is making a freaking fortune.
