I keep seeing stories about female movie stars not getting paid as much as their male costars.  I fully believe in equal pay for equal work, but maybe movie stardom isn't the best forum in which we should be arguing this point.  It's really, really hard for me to feel sad for someone who's already making millions of dollars whining about how someone else makes a few million more than them.

For that matter, instead of raising the female movie star's pay, why don't we lower the male movie star's pay to match?  Who could be upset about that?  They're both still making millions of dollars.  Oh, are you only making 10 million now instead of 12 million?  Aw.  I feel so terribly sorry for you.  

There are some jobs that are super over-inflated in the pay scale in terms of what value they actually bring to society, while other jobs are immensely underpaid.  Why don't we pay movie stars less regardless of their gender and pay teachers more.  Corporate bigwigs, bankers, lawyers, and politicians can all take healthy pay-cuts as well.  I would be totally fine with that.
