So, yeah, we had to get a new water heater yesterday. That was an expensive surprise. We figured out the old one had been installed in April of 2005, so it's been over seventeen years and apparently the average lifespan of a water heater is more like six years, so I guess I can't really complain too much. We managed to get it all taken care of yesterday, too, so that was good. I didn't even have to go without a hot shower. The guy who installed it said it will probably work better than our old one did and that I should be careful not to get scalded. I didn't, but it reminded me of the showers in my dorm my first year of college. There were like four stalls and they could all run at the same time and sometimes did at peak times of the morning. But what I recall most vividly is if you felt the pressure change you had about a second or two to get out of the blast of water or you would get seriously scalded. It only took a couple times to figure that out and it was kind of funny because if you happened to be showering at one of those said peak times and the water pressure changed, it would happen in all four stalls and you could hear four bodies hitting the wall at the same time trying to avoid the hot spray. Ah, memories.
