We have a pomegranate tree in the front yard that puts out a decent amount of fruit, except I noticed there were a lot of weird looking bugs crawling all over it. I looked them up online and it turns out they're called leaf-footed bugs and they're a known pest of pomegranate trees. Apparently they burrow into the fruit and suck all the juice out.
In looking for solutions what to do about them I learned you can spray them with something called permethrin, so I bought some of it and sprayed everywhere I saw the bugs. It's not like some bug spray I've seen that kills on contact, but it does seem to be working as I don't see anywhere near as many of those things on the tree now. It's always nice when things work. Now I don't know if any of the fruit will be salvageable this year, but hopefully I put an end to the bug infestation.
