Is it really July already?  That means this year is already halfway over.  Jeez.  Time continues to go super duper fast.

I've got a couple more days on my vacation, which is also racing by much too fast.  We went on a boat out on the ocean yesterday.  I was hoping to see some blue whales, but no luck there.  We did manage to see a couple different pods of dolphins, which is always cool.  Gotta love dolphins.  They seem to really get a kick out of swimming under the boat .  I was standing right at the bow and could look down and just see them swimming right along with us.   

We also saw about three Mola Molas, also known as ocean sunfish, which is a new fish for me.  They're kind of weird looking, but also cool.  Apparently they can become really large and are some of the heaviest bony fish in the world.  The ones we saw looked like they were about the same size as the bigger dolphins.  They were noticeably different looking than the dolphins and thus fairly easy to spot as long as they remained near the surface.  They'd occasionally sink down and pretty much disappear.  

Finally as we were returning to the harbor we saw a couple more dolphins of a different species who were actually swimming around in the harbor.  That was a nice little bonus at the end.  I've taken this same whale-watching trip twice before several years ago and failed to see anything at all both times.  As a result they gave us a coupon to do it again for free, which is why we kept trying.  It was nice to not get skunked for a third time.  

All right, not sure what we're going to do today, but I'm going to try to savor the vacation time I have left and also take it easy.
