I was told today I should be a radio host because supposedly I have the voice for it. I have never ever been told this before despite the person asserting I must hear this all the time. I do not. Like most people I actually hate hearing recordings of my talking voice as it sounds way different than how I hear it from inside my head. I get that's how I really sound, but it sounds weird to me and I don't like it. Also I don't think I'm always the best at enunciating when I talk and that seems crucial to being a radio host. But I took it as a complement and I'm catching myself trying to say things like "You're listening to WXKL" just to try it on for size.

Oddly enough I don't mind hearing my singing voice too much because I've recorded it literally thousands of times so I'm pretty used to it. I think it could be better also, but at least it doesn't make me instantly cringe the way my speaking voice does.
