They announced the longlist for the Open Novella Contest here on Wattpad today and regrettably my entry Super Screwup did not make the cut.  It's a bit disappointing since I did pour a lot of work into it and I thought it was pretty good in my admittedly biased opinion.  But I guess the judges weren't feeling the loser super hero vibe.  Oh well.  My life-long streak of never winning anything remains intact.  That's something, I suppose.  It's always nice to win stuff, but you really can't take it too much to heart when you lose.  Especially when it's something as highly subjective as a writing contest.

Interestingly I had a dream the other night in which Super Screwup did not make the longlist, so I guess you could also say this was a dream come true!
