It's probably a cultural thing, but I don't understand the appeal of lowriders. I don't understand the appeal of trucks with giant tires either, but I suppose that's a topic for another time. The thing is every time I see a lowrider I just can't help but think doesn't the bottom of the car just get scraped all to hell every time it goes over a bump? And sometimes there's some debris in the road that a normal car could pass harmlessly over but I feel like it would totally be caught up in the underside of a lowrider. Heck, just the other day in my normal sized car I went down a hill a little too fast and when it flattened out at the bottom I heard a thunking sound like the bottom of my car had hit the ground. I felt compelled to inspect for damage when I got out. It just seems like a lowrider would do this all the time. And yet they're popular enough that somebody wrote an admittedly catchy song about them. I guess they're supposed to look cool or something?
