On New Year's Eve we played this game called "WTF?" with some friends.  I'd never played it before, but it was really quite fun.  It involves answering a bunch of questions really quickly, most of which are on the risque side of things.  Some of the questions involve factual information, but a lot of them are really personal.  As such, there are no answers printed on the cards to any of the questions.  Without getting into all the rules of the game, the reason for this is you're supposed to agree among yourselves whether or not the person answering the question got it right or not, and challenging them on an answer is part of the fun.

Anyway this one particular question came up, which has been sticking in my head ever since.  It was something to the effect of "Which U.S. state contains an anagram of the most offensive term in the middle of its name?"  This is something that's hard to come up with an answer with quickly, since anagrams involve re-arranging letters and there's a lot of states to try to think about.  We didn't come up with a satisfactory answer that night and there's no answers on the card so I've been running it through my mind off and on since then trying to think of state names and what you could do with the letters in the middle of them.  I haven't sat down and gone through all fifty, but I think I've come up with a couple now.  They only work if you don't have to use all of the letters, but only some of them.  The card didn't specify, so I think you could argue your case for these in the actual game.  It only said they had to "contain" an anagram for an offensive term.

So don't read any further if you're offended by semi-dirty words, but I just came up with two states today that I think would work.  The first one is Mississippi from which you can rearrange some of those letters in the middle to make the word "piss."  Actually, now that I look at it written out, you can do that twice and get "piss piss."

The second one I came up with is Louisiana.  If you only use some of the letters in the middle you can form the word "anus."

I don't know, there might be some better ones, and I'll probably keep thinking about it, but if you ever find yourself playing the game "WTF?" and that question comes up, there's two good answers you could use.
