Post Game AU!Saiibo: Who Are You?

(A/N): This one shot is meant to be in like with a Post Game AU created by Flaming_SaiiboAce , so if you're curious for more AU details, check out their book explaining it!

I tried to stay as close to their AU as I could, but I may have unintentionally made a few changes to better suit the one shot. Sorry about that!

That being said, Kiibo is called Tetsuya in this AU, calling him Kiibo confuses him greatly. Characters call him Kiibo either because they wanna mess with him, or more likely because they don't know better.

P.S.: The comic has nothing to do with the AU; I just thought it was funny.

Warnings: Amnesia, implications of abuse, self negativity, mentions of blood

I'm Tetsuya Idabashi... I'm a human... I'm not a robot... I'm my own person... I think-

Tetsuya was startled out of his daze by frantic knocking at the door.

The white haired boy looked up expectantly at the man sitting across from him, tinkering with a simple wristwatch.

"Hm?" Professor Idabashi looked up from his project. "Tetsuya, would you mind checking who that is? If I put this down, it may burst into flames." The scientist chuckled nervously. (A/N: I wasn't entirely clear where Tetsuya lived in this AU, so for this one shot, he lives with Professor Idabashi, who is actually his dad, I hope that's alright!)

Tetsuya nodded, getting up from the table. "Of course, Prof-Father." He still found himself getting the man's role in his life confused because of his jumbled heap of memories.

He walked over to the door and opened it, only to be met with... "Saihara-kun?" He frowned. "It's been..."

"Over a year. I-I know." The thin young man finished nervously, his greyish eyes flicking from side to side as if he was worried about being followed. "U-um... I need somewhere to stay, just for a day or two, a-as soon as I get a job, I'll be out of your hair; I promise!" He hastily wiped his nose, which Tetsuya just noticed was violently bleeding.

Tetsuya's frown deepened. He needs to stay here? Why is he coming to me after so long? "Just... let me ask my father first..." He decided on staying.

Shuichi nodded fervently, leaning against the side of the door as Tetsuya reentered the house.

"Uh... you can come in for now, if you want..." The shorter boy offered awkwardly, not wanting to seem rude for leaving the blue haired boy outside.

"Huh? I... can?" The detective seemed genuinely confused at the invitation, which concerned Tetsuya slightly.

"Well... it's better than just standing outside, right?"

Shuichi gave another wordless nod, stepping inside and practically collapsing on the couch.

It was only then that Tetsuya fully began to notice how... strange Shuichi was. He shows up at his house out of nowhere covered in bruises with blood staining his dark, collared shirt... there was definitely something going on, Tetsuya decided.

"P-Father?" Tetsuya went back into the dining room.

The inventor paused his tinkering. "Tetsu? Who was at the door?"

Tetsuya bit his lip. "Remember when I was in Danganronpa?" That was a stupid question. Of course he remembers. He mentally scolded himself.

The middle aged man's expression darkened. "What about it?"

"Remember the Ultimate Detective?"

Idabashi perked up. "The boy who ended the whole show? Sure, I remember him."

"Yeah... he's in our living room." Tetsuya apprehensively revealed.

The professor quickly stood, rushing into the next room. "Saihara-san?"

Shuichi sat up, his eyes widening as they met the professor's.  "I-I can leave if I'm-"

"No... stay." Idabashi slowly approached him. "You can stay with us as long as you need, Saihara-san." The man reassured the high strung young man.

Tetsuya's eyebrows knit together pensively. Why was his professor acting so cautious and gentle around Shuichi? Did he notice something about the detective that Tetsuya missed?

"Who do you live with?" Idabashi asked in a soft voice. "Your parents? Grandparents?"

"My... Uncle." Shuichi's expression darkened upon the mention of the man. "But, he kicked me out, so I guess I'm on my own now."

Idabashi nodded, turning back to Tetsuya. "Tetsu? Could you get the first aid kit from the cabinet?"

Tetsuya nodded, grabbing the case and quickly handing it to his father.

The man gave him a grateful nod.

"Thank you, Tetsuya. I hope you don't mind having a roommate for now."

***

About three months past since Shuichi began living with the Idabashis.

He worked as a private detective on weekdays and helped Professor Idabashi out in his lab when he had spare time.

He was extremely helpful around the house and tried to convince Idabashi to accept money as payment for his stay, but the man never accepted a single yen of it.

He wouldn't ever talk about the previous year spent with his uncle after the game and he always changed the subject when someone asked about it.

Tetsuya didn't really mind sharing a bedroom with Shuichi. Neither one needed much space, so it worked out pretty well. They occasionally woke each other up unintentionally from their respective nightmares, but they were usually able to calm the other down pretty effectively.

Tetsuya would never admit it, but he quite enjoyed sleeping in the same bed as Shuichi. (A/N: No, not like that, dirty minded people!) The taller boy's face was so peaceful when he slept. Tetsuya felt like looking at it helped him center himself.

But Tetsuya's favorite part about Shuichi staying with them was when Idabashi let the two of them run errands or hang out outside of the house.

And today was one of those days.

Idabashi gave them a shopping list and asked them to buy some groceries and clothes, seeing as how both Tetsuya and Shuichi needed some.

Tetsuya had no memory of ever going to an outside shopping mall. He must have been to one at some point, but he was still slightly nervous about the whole ordeal.

But Shuichi was smiling comfortingly at him. "Tetsuya-kun, if it were to make you feel better, I could hold your hand, so that we don't get separated if there's a crowd." Over the time spent as roommates, they agreed on switching to a first name basis with each other.

Tetsuya nodded gratefully. "If it's not too much trouble..."

Shuichi squeezed his hand in response.

Tetsuya felt his face heat up slightly. He tightened his grip on Shuichi's hand as they set off on their errands.

"So... clothes before groceries?"

Tetsuya nodded in confirmation. "There are frozen products on the list. It'd be better if we get those to the house as soon as possible."

Shuichi was about to respond, but a new voice made him turn to face the newcomer.

"Awww, Kiiboy finally gets to fulfill his role as a wife!" Kokichi chuckled, skipping up to the pair.

Tetsuya frowned, averting the shorter ultimate's gaze.

Shuichi looked at Kokichi with a dark expression. "His name is Tetsuya, Ouma-kun." The detective said coldly.

Kokichi blinked, looking slightly guilty for a second before his expression regressed into his usual mischievous norm. "Oops! My baaaad! What's a nice, young couple like you doing boring stuff on a nice day like this?" (A/N: I don't know much about Kokichi in this AU, so I decided that he still has a persona very similar to himself in the game. He's a softy underneath, but he pushes people away before they can see that about him.)

Shuichi tugged slightly on Tetsuya's hand, prompting him to inch closer. "Don't put words into our mouths, Ouma-kun. We're not a couple." He was blushing as he spoke, but his tone didn't waver.

Since when was Shuichi so defensive over me? Tetsuya couldn't help but wonder.

"Oh?" Kokichi smirked. "Then why is Kiiboy blushing so hard?"

Tetsuya looked down, his face burning with embarrassment.

"Hey... Tetsuya-kun, it's okay..." Shuichi said softly. "Don't listen to Ouma-kun."

"Yeah! Don't listen to the guy interrupting your date!" Kokichi laughed. "I have evil leader things to do, so I'll be on my way!" He said before skipping away.

"Kiibo..."

Shuichi looked at the white haired boy worriedly.

"Could I really just be nothing in the end? I mean... I forgot him... I forgot me."

"Tetsuya, look at me." Shuichi said firmly.

"B-but... aren't I just-"

"You are Tetsuya Idabashi. You're not Kiibo... Kiibo is gone. You are your own person... and I'll be here to help you find him."

Tetsuya's eyes widened as he stared at the guardian angel before him. His beautiful guardian angel.

"Shuichi..." His lip began to tremble. "please... stay with me."

"Always."

The two got closer together, holding the other close... silently vowing to always be there for each other.
