Jimin couldn't help but blush whenever he thought of his fiance Jungkook. The man though cold and expressionless seemed perfect to the boy.

They had been engaged since the day Jimin was born and Jungkook was 10 years old. It was a verbal agreement between the two families. Jungkook's mom and grandfather wanted it and now who was Mrs Park, her best friend to deny it. They all wanted to turn their friendship into a relationship.

"From now on Jimin is your responsibility okay? You will love and cherish him, protect him from all evil..." Jungkook's family told the 10 year old as Jimin's mom handed him the baby "...he is yours"

Jungkook smiles at the cute baby in his arms "...of course I will protect him with my life..."

True to his word, Jungkook always protected the boy. And ever since Jimin was young, Jimin was told Jungkook was his and the small boy developed feelings for the elder boy. Jungkook was always the perfect friend/protector/confidant as the boy grew up. Jimin never hid anything from Jungkook and the man clearly enjoyed Jimin's presence but that didn't last long.

Jungkook never showed any emotions ever since Jimin was hit with puberty. He always kept a safe distance and spoke coldly to the boy - over concerned with the boy's health and safety. Still, Jimin appreciated any time he got to spend with the man.

Jimin was 18 when the families officially asked the two to get engaged. Jimin had high expectations of the ceremony, he was a hopeless romantic afterall, but Jungkook didn't even look at him nor talk to him and that deeply hurt the boy. Yet Jimin forgave him because he understood the man often kept to himself. All that mattered to Jimin now was that they were officially engaged. That alone made him happy, atleast for now.

That happiness didn't last long though. They had dates scheduled by Jungkook during the weekends and it was always Jimin who talked while the man just humed as they ate. Jimin started to feel like maybe the man didn't love him back. Jimin was upset the whole drive home. Jimin had found a romantic spot near the restaurant to take couple pictures and Jungkook discouraged it, urging the boy to hurry as he had some works to do

Jimin is silent when Jungkook drops him home. Jimin lived alone in an off campus apartment

"Let me walk you to ..." Jungkook stops talking seeing Jimin turn to face him

Jimin just looked at the man with so much sadness that Jungkook just had to ask

"What's wrong? Are you okay?"

"Oh you can actually show concern?" Jimin asks genuinely half surprised with a hint of sarcasm

Jungkook frowns before shaking his head "I don't have time for childish jokes. You need to rest..."

Jimin's eyes tear up "...do you ... do you even love me?"

Jungkook looks at the boy and something in him aches but he doesn't react

Jimin lets out a wet chuckle as he looks away before looking back at the man

"So you are being forced to marry me?"

Jungkook continues staring at the boy

"I don't want to marry someone who doesn't love me... I want to marry someone I love and someone who loves me back... if there is no love between us... I think it's best to break off the engagement..." Jimin said between his tears before running off to his apartment

Jungkook watches the boy, sighing before getting back in his car

Jungkook is surprised when Jimin's best friend Taehyung calls him. It was nearly midnight

"....I'm sorry to call you but Jimin is really drunk and won't stop crying.... could you..."

"I'm coming. Send me the location"

Jungkook carries a nearly passed out Jimin into his car

Jimin rests his head on the car seat as his whole body faces Jungkook, his eyes opening and shutting occasionally

"Why did you drink so much? How can you be so irresponsible?" Jungkook sighs as he leans over to fasten Jimin's seat belt

"W-Why can't you l-love me?" Jimin's heart broken voice makes Jungkook nearly cry "...w-why? A-am I not g-good enough for y-you?" Jimin lets out a heartwretching sob as Jungkook looks at him with emotional eyes, his hands reaching out to wipe Jimin's tears "...c-c-can't you love me at least a bit ... " Jimin's breath is uneven "...I'm asking for only a little love.. that's more than enough for me ..." Jungkook's eyes soften as he stares at the vulnerable boy begging him "...please..." Jimin cries again "...why won't you kiss me... or just hug me.... I just want to be loved.." Jimin whispers as he hiccups "...I have loved you my whole life... I'm a fool for loving you...."

Jungkook can't help but cup Jimin's face delicately before leaning in to kiss Jimin's pain away. The kiss was soft and gentle in the beginning but when Jimin started to respond, the kiss turned passionate with Jungkook nearly pulling the boy into his lap if it wasn't for the seat belt, which brought Jungkook back to reality. Jimin fell asleep.

Jungkook talks to Jimin's parents and asks their permission to allow Jimin to stay with him. Jungkook knows he has hurt Jimin enough and he can't risk Jimin breaking off the engagement just because he took things for granted. He has to fix it

"Why you want me to stay with you?" Jimin asks confused when he learns from his parents that Jungkook asked their permission

"Because I don't want you to break the engagement"

"Why?"

Jimin was hoping for a confession

"Because that's what our families want"

Jimin scoffs before he cuts the call

Jimin immediately goes to his parent's house and asks them to cancel the engagement.

"But why baby? Don't you love him?" Mrs Park is confused

"Yes... but I want to be loved too... I don't want to be a burden for him..." Jimin tries to hold back his tears

"My dear... come sit next to me..." his mom pats the couch

Jimin goes to her

"I think you misunderstood him... he really loves you... more than himself..." Jimin looks at his mom surprised "...he is 10 years older than you... he feels that since you were told from childhood that he would be yours, you never got a chance to think of anyone else... he feels you deserve someone better..."

Jimin gulps "Then what about him? Even he was told that I was his.. he never had anyone either..."

Mrs Park smiles "Yes that's true but he was given a choice unlike you... he was not obliged to be yours... but you were kinda made to believe he is only yours... he chose you himself, he just felt maybe he wasn't good enough for you.."

Jimin stares at his mom "...and how do you know that? If he really did love me then why can't he spend time with me more... or show his feelings..."

"He has always been reserved by nature but he does care about you... how do I know that? Well because I can see it in his eyes and subtle actions and above all he has cried in front of his mom multiple times about his insecurities about providing for you.... you know their family is not as wealthy as ours... he didn't ever want you to depend on our money for your desires... ever since he started working, he has been the one paying for the things you wanted to buy... that cinnamonrol plushie, the iPad... your new compact boots... everything... the card you use, thinking its your dad's is actual Jungkook's... you are using his money - the card he made for you... for your expense..." she sighs "...don't look at me like that... I didn't encourage this and I was very strict with him to not do that but when he asked me with his teary eyes to let him do that... for your happiness... I couldn't resist his passion... and the moment I said okay... you should have seen his expression... as if I had handed him the whole world..." a tear drops down Jimin's cheek "...he loves you... he just isn't confident that he deserves you but he can't let you go either... and thats why I am okay with you guys staying together... get to know each other... you both need to accept your love and accept that you both deserve each other..."

Jimin goes back to his apartment and cries. He doesn't know what to do. He still loves Jungkook but doesn't like the fact that everyone just wants to protect him like he is a 5 year old child.

I hate you for making me feel so unloved and unwanted..I will never forgive you

Jimin blocks Jungkook's number from his phone after the elder man kept calling him multiple times

"Jimin...Jungkook met with an accident..." Mrs Park says making Jimin's grip on the phone loosen "...I think it's pretty bad..."

Jimin rushes to the hospital, tears pooling in his eyes

He rushes into the room that he was told, to see Jungkook being treated by the nurses there. His wounds were minimal

Jimin fumes as he was made to think Jungkook's condition was critical.

"Everything about you is a lie! I hate you so much..." Jimin starts crying as Jungkook slowly stands up ".... how can you get hurt... why are you hurt... aren't you a big man... can't you drive properly..you always blame for me for being childish... you are the one who can't take care of yourself...." Jimin spats in angry, frustration and disappointment

Jungkook expression softens - he could see the boy was scared

Jungkook reaches out and pulls the boy into a gentle hug making the boy cry harder

Jungkook pats his back

"I love you...please don't leave me" Jimin whispers

Jungkook pulls away wiping the boy's tears

".... Jiminah... I'm sorry you had to suffer my arrogance... but that won't happen anymore"

"Why are you apologizing.." Jimin hiccups "... I'm the one to apolo..."

Jungkook shuts Jimin up with a quick peck on his lips

"Because I love you"

Jimin's eyes glisten as he pulls Jungkook closer by his collar

"Then kiss me properly"

Jungkook chuckles slightly as he brushes Jimin's hair to the side

"I love you Jiminah"

"I love you too" Jimin says already feeling Jungkook's lips capturing his own in a passionate kiss
