"Jungkook... son..." Mrs Kim's voice on the call is sad

"What happened aunty? Are you okay?" Jungkook asks worried

"Everything is okay. I know you are busy but can you do me a favor?"

"Of course"

"I got a proposal for Taehyung..."

"Oh really? He didn't tell me.."

"He doesn't know about it yet. I really like the guy for him and Tae never agrees to marry anyone... can you please come with us and convince him for marriage? He always listens to you...."

Jungkook chuckles "Of course if I feel the guy is good enough for our Tae.. I will definitely help you out..."

Jungkook and Taehyung have been the best of friends since childhood. Jungkook's family were involved in the mafia and Jungkook naturally took a liking to it as well, but he wasn't the typical mafia doing illegal business. He did the right things in the wrong way using his powers. He always protected the innocent.

Jungkook was waiting in anticipation at the Kim residence. The Parks were going to visit soon with their son.

Taehyung was upset that even Jungkook was siding his mom but Jungkook somehow convinced him to at least meet the guy

Sometime later,

Jungkook was on a call when the Parks came in. Jungkook was in the corridor on the other side of the living room

Jungkook was still on the call when the families start talking, it was only when Taehyung's fiancée to be speaks that Jungkook's heart nearly stopped beating

He cuts the call when he hears the voice he has imprinted in his mind

Park Jimin?!

Park Jimin is the son of CEO Park and currently in his final year of college.

Jimin and his friends had gone to a karaoke bar one evening after their 3rd year final exams and was partying there. A group of guys (part of the Lee mafia) found the young group of boys attractive and wanted to sell them off into the black market. They had their spies at the karaoke who drugged the group's drinks, making them all lose consciousness slowly.

Jungkook, part of the Jeon mafia, heard from his sources that Lee was targeting college students and he rushed to the scene to catch the Lee mafia in action. That was how he ended up saving Jimin and his friends. Jungkook had fallen in love with the young boy the second he had seen him. Jimin had only hazy memories of the event due to the high dose of drugs. He knew someone saved him that day but he didn't know who. He tried to find out, without success. Jimin just wanted to thank the man atleast.

Jungkook didn't pursue after Jimin because he was still in college. Jungkook was waiting for the day Jimin graduated to approach the boy. In the meantime, Jungkook just admired the boy from a distance and learnt about his likes and dislikes. Jungkook was in no way a creepy stalker. He just got the information he needed about the boy and waited for the right time

Unfortunately the right time was now stolen by his best friend.

"Of course I don't mind dating for a while before marriage..." Jimin says making Jungkook's heart stop beating for a second

"I'm okay with it too, mom" Taehyung says smiling brightly

Jungkook was in angry tears as he stood flat against the wall of the corridor

"Where is Jungkook, mom? He didn't come to see Jimin..." Taehyung says pouting

"I heard him on the phone earlier... I think he has some important business to take care of... if you know what I mean.."

Taehyung nods in understanding - not everyone needs to know that Jungkook was in the mafia, right?

"Jimin is so cute!" Taehyung says smiling widely as Jungkook sat next to him in his room

Jimin and the Parks were long gone

"You should have seen him... he is so kind... and beautiful... and funny... I could just hug him all day... he is that adorable.. " Taehyung's smile slowly fades when he sees the man in front of him, glare at the wall

"Jungkook? Is something wrong?"

"You can't marry him!" Jungkook growls

"W-what? Why?"

"Because I love him! I saw him first! He is mine!" Jungkook says through gritted teeth and clutched fists

"W-What?"

"He is the mystery guy, Tae..." Jungkook is close to tears "...the only guy who made my heart beat..."

Taehyung is upset. He understands Jungkook - it was difficult for the man to fall in love but he also knew it wasn't easy for him to like someone as well. And so he let's Jungkook approach Jimin while he dated the boy as well

Let the best man win

Jungkook started hanging out with the two during their dates, which annoyed Taehyung and Jimin as well. Whenever Taehyung did anything close to romantic like pulling up a chair for Jimin, Jungkook would sit there instead. If Taehyung went to open the door for Jimin in the car, Jungkook would sit in the driver's sit while Taehyung ended up sitting behind.

Jungkook had already approached Jimin and told him about his feelings. Jimin immediately rejected him, because he was almost engaged to Taehyung in the first place and when Jungkook had told him that he was in the mafia, Jimin didn't want to hear anything anymore. Jimin was scared, especially after the almost kidnapping that happened earlier

Jungkook didn't want to tell Jimin that he was his savior. He didn't want Jimin to feel forced to like him back. He didn't want Jimin that way.

Jimin would at times rudely ask Jungkook to leave and the man would leave because he didn't want to upset Jimin further.

After Jungkook left and the couple hang out and tried to discuss the wedding and engagement, they both completely change the topic. They slowly start to realise that what they feel for each other was pure friendship

"Thank God.. I feel so much better now..." Taehyung sighs in relief when Jimin also admits that he can't marry him "...if you don't mind... can you give Jungkook a chance?"

"I don't want to..."

"Why? He is handsome... smart and kind... he loves you and will take care of you... you have my guarantee..."

Jimin sighs and shakes his head

"Why not?" The voice makes Jimin stand up and turn around to face the man

Taehyung leaves the two alone

"Am I that disgusting that you can't even imagine being with me?!" Jungkook is hurt and angry "...tell me! What's so wrong with me?!"

"I don't want to be involved with your kind"

"My kind?" Jungkook is angry "I didn't know the man I feel for, judged people ..don't you know to never judge a book by its cover?"

Jimin felt hurt at the accusation. He was a humble man and never judged anyone. It was his first time saying so, he just wanted to discourage Jungkook. He had a bad PTSD after the incident he faced and the only comfort he got was when he thought of his guardian angel. He knew Jungkook was different. He never felt anything but safe and comfortable when he was around the tall man but his fears stopped him from seeing Jungkook for who he really was

Jimin's eyes fill up in guilt and Jungkook could see that

Jimin is brought to reality when he feels a warm hand gently wipe his tears

"Jimin... please give me a chance.. I promise not to hurt you..." Jungkook says holding Jimin's tiny hands delicately in his own and Jimin just wanted to melt right then and there

"O-Okay...."

Jimin is happy with his decison. Jungkook is charming, funny, handsome and made him feel a certain way that no one has ever made him feel before.

Jungkook made him feel happy to be alive and experience things he hasn't done before. Jungkook being in the mafia didn't bother him anymore because he saw Jungkook beyond his profession and also knew that Jungkook wouldn't harm anyone innocent

Jimin had just gotten to Jungkook's place, deciding to surprise the man and also confess his feelings - yes, he was ready to finally let the man know that he returned his feelings

Jimin punched in the security keycode for the apartment and just as he neared the door to Jungkook's room, he heard the man's conversation with Taehyung

"Why the fck won't you tell him the truth already?!" Taehyung is angry on the speaker phone

Jungkook continued his workouts without bothering

"Hello! Are you there?!"

"Yea I'm here..." Jungkook says doing his plank

Taehyung sighs "Look... you two have been dating for a while now... I even got a fiancée now...I wanted you to atleast get engaged before my wedding... I know Jimin already likes you... what is stopping you from telling him that you are the one who saved him from being sold huh? He will love you more..."

"You know that I can't just..." Jungkook stops when he sees a pair of feet next to his head, he looks up to see Jimin standing there with teary eyes "Jimin!" Jungkook stands up

"Hello? Jimin is there?" Taehyung is confused

"I will talk to you later..." Jungkook quickly cuts the call which was placed on his table

"J-Jimin...when did you get here?" Jungkook is nervous

"You... you were the one who saved me?" Jimin is teary eyed, his throat ached

"..."

"...why didn't you tell me?"

"I don't want your love that way" Jungkook sighs looking down

Jimin smiles as tears escape his eyes "This is why I love you" Jimin says pulling the man closer to him

"Y-You love me?"

Jimin smiles "....let me show you..." he whispers against Jungkook's lips

"Show me" Jungkook whispers back "I love you"

"I love you too..."
